nearly there, the previous body language indicating all was not right didnt feature in the interview, But certainly NP has "improved" from needing to control and search for wat he says. i say improved as he still seems a little unsure in his deliverance ..
We will see about 48 -50 hours to kick off ............

Fantastic news that NP is well - some things are more important than football and this is one of them.

Though it would be nice if the team pull their finger out and get a good result - that would be the icing on the cake

It's great to have Nige back in charge and well, a solid performance and a victory would be icing on the cake.

He looked and sounded considerably better than the last time we saw him in interview and that was good to see. Coming back to the footballing realities that face him after what must have been one hell of a health scare is something we all expect, nay demand, and the results over the next few weeks will tell whether his return to fitness brings about a change in our fortunes and league position. Like the rest of you I respect him as a force in football management but he has to produce a better attitude in the squad and do whatever it takes to get this less than great squad to perform to the required standards needed to stay at Bristol City. Anything less than a turnaround between now and Christmas is unacceptable and the supporters will be showing their preferences as to who goes and who stays during the January transfer window. I believe historically that teams that are in the relegation zone on January 1st do in fact fall through the trap door. Surely but surely there is better within our current squad and I wonder what it will take to bring them back to the reality that they are essentially playing for their futures but more importantly playing for the future of Bristol City.

Failure is not an option guys so get your lazy backsides in to the fray.

could have been a bit shorter, as interviewers given too much time and a tendancy to repeat questioning. NP stood up, well although the odd bit of body language /mannerism indicated he was getting a bit bored [agitated] and a couple of replies [ were not lies ] but a clouded response.
Could be going with Low and Semenyo? Starting 11 could be the top drawer players [ other than injuries ] Subs maybe embrace the new dawn! any players not involved this weekend [other than injuries ] could be needing divine intervention!

All in all would say he appears to 80+% but with an illness related to covid... do not know what if any medication is helping... best welcome he can give and recieve is 3pts worst case 1pt or a loss down to very bad refereeing!

I know your not a fan of NP comes across in your posts-but give him time - LJ and DH had long enough and a huge war chest thrown at them.

I am 100% confident he will turn this **** squad around-we have to give him the time.

Or your keep going down the let's change the manager route and the circle starts again.

I do wind the ‘haters’ up from time to time, but my honest genuine opinion of NP is disappointment.
I respect his record, but I honestly can’t see a difference in results or performances from the LJ or DH days.
People blame the players and there is probably truth in there somewhere, but this is the worst season for position since Cotts and the second full season without LJ.
I really hope he can turn it around and I AM giving him time. I’ve never called for his head.
I want him to succeed - as I do ALL our managers. It’s not helpful chopping and changing the manager all the time and whilst we are not in the relegation zone I’m ok with NP.

My thoughts exactly......The biggest disappointment for me is we seem to go with the same tactics, even though they are not working.
I'm hoping after the international break and the return of Nige, we see changes in our approach....It's all fine, blaming the players, but if we continue as before, then the manager has to take the blame for his actions....it's not just the results that's been a disappointment, it's the performances IMO that's been really poor..

If it was the same players I'd agree.
    But patently obvious it's not.

Pretty sure what your motives are because you both can't be that thick.

    DISSAPOINTMENT IS KEY!for me also.
What we have to FACTOR IN is those first games [ end of the season after DH left ] NP was fit, full of beans and was taking over after the team had just won 2 games against better performers and he couldnt keep that up, 13 games 1 win 3 draws [ .46 pts against 1.36 ] Extolling the virtues of the squad, part of the reasoning for taking the job! and for some reason it all collapsed. Is it the iron fist approach?, management works 2 ways encouragement or regimental [ iron fist ]! BCFC had a "plan" family club, [ not just fans ] youngsters from academy, buying in youngsters developing. Older players had to fit [ didnt really get to many of them, journey men loans etc ] .
From time to time we all get stuck in a groove, have bad days ... even weeks .. BCFC seems plagued with runs of poor results often nowadays after January! Is it insecurity of the players minds? I had 5 redundancies, 4 companies went bust 1 moved out of the area. It is not a nice feeling, even knowing in advance, or knowing you can get another job pretty quickly [ even if it is temporary via an agency ] .....imagine playing or trying to under the sword, a simple mistake could put you on the block...

Question from a thick person.....to a highly intelligent one :emoticon-0103-cool:
Do you think, with the players we have (that you call crap), NP's, tactics, formations, team selection, & setup has been right, to getting the best performance from them as possible?

The formation out there in the first half played well with a reasonably high press and we put them under a lot of pressure and possibly could have added a second. After the break we fell back on the type of play that always gets us in trouble and lo and behold we got our just desserts from a team that we were capably handling and if you add in some defensive mistakes it is even more of sad situation. Surely it must be NP who sends out the instructions and player changes and given that he must know his stuff why then are we constantly falling afoul of the same jinxes every time? Players or set-up is the problem and I'm not quite sure which is the culprit but we need to find out before our next home game because 3 points is almost a must if they want to keep us happy.

Like you in confused, the players will no doubt get the blame. But I don’t understand when we’re playing high press and go one up we revert to this shell like team in the second half.

Sorry RP I can’t decipher the meaning of your comment - although I CAN see it’s meant as a swipe at my own comment - but you seem to agree with it!!
People are blaming the players I said - well, they are - and I agree there is probably some truth in there - the players have not looked up for the job at times.
The squad 11 has been changed because it’s been forced by injury, so yes it’s not the same 11 players every game that’s true. Williams, Massengo and Semenyo have been missed and I suggest that we played better today because Williams was back - maybe for 2 or 3 games before he goes back to the sickroom.
I’m not sure what your point was ….. :emoticon-0138-think
