Insulation just seems such a strange point to fixate on. Especially seeing as the climate is warming at such unprecedented rates our needs to heat our homes is surely going to reduce. In fact there is expected to be an upsurge in Air Condition use in homes. Surely they should be calling for Heat Pump Britain. As heat pumps could both heat and cool homes with much lower emissions than conventional gas boilers and A/C units.
Agreed. Insulation seems like a weird niche aspect of climate activism to fixate on. A 2017 study showed 100 corporations were responsible for 71% of global emissions. Fixating on individual carbon footprints instead of the systemic causes of emissions is, no pun intended, a smoke-screen. Ironically, one of the biggest causes for reliance on fossil fuels in certain nations is a result of the fear-mongering by green activists against nuclear energy, which caused nations to abandon nuclear energy. In Germany, green activists celebrated the closing of nuclear power plants, even though they were replaced by coal ones. The fear-mongering of nuclear energy has set us back decades in the campaign to phase out fossil fuels.
BREAKING NEWS The, oddly specific, climate protest group, Insulate Britain, has splintered into two rival factions after much acrimonious in-fighting The hardcore Cavity Wall Insulation Volunteer Force (CWIVF) have begun forcing themselves into the wall cavities of unsuspecting homeowners wearing foam insulation suicide vests. Meanwhile the moderate Draft Excluders People Collective (DEPC) have continued their lay down protests, except they are now doing it in front of drafty doors and not on the M25.
That group are already operating in many football matches.... laying down whilst people stand guard...
