the condemnation of Racism on here is very strong, even those who may be anti "knee" [ for a number of reasons ] are staunch kick it outers ... it takes the biscuit when the advocator of racism in cricket gets "highlighted for having a go at the jewish population!!!"

Azeem Rafiq has apologised and said he is "deeply ashamed" for using anti-Semitic language in Facebook messages from 2011.
Former spinner Rafiq has spoken of his experiences of racism at Yorkshire and appeared at a Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee this week.
The 30-year-old said he had "absolutely no excuses" for the messages.
"I am incredibly angry at myself and apologise to the Jewish community," he said in a statement.....

    How many more!!!

seems like the FA cup exposure of non league teams shows it is not just top class football/ cricket but all the way down... which is sad

    They are all hypocrites
And one of the largest is Lewis Hamilton. He's only 'of colour' when he goes around telling people what an awful and disadvantaged upbringing he had. But he's been called out of his recollections on several occasions by drivers at all levels who competed against him when he had the best cars, huge sponsorships etc.
I can't stand the two faced git.

    'They are all hypocrites'
I couldn't agree more about Hamilton.

I think Raheem Sterling and Co are the worst.
On their knees every week for blm.
Yet the thousands of migrants killed in the construction in Qatar for the World Cup don't matter.

Can't put in words the disgust I feel for English football.

It's not only football and motorsport per se, it's the idiot competitors within both (plus Cricket) that are the issue. Out of touch with the paying public, and reality.

one of the things I cant pin down is when the banter finally ended and racism [ when lawsuits meant a pay out ] Started ......
Till death us do part an amazingly contrite and blunt series with no holds barred. Had whole communities hand in hand having digs in a friendly atmosphere, working together, boozing together a nation of banterers!!! Forget the name of the other one based in India, Actors falling over themselves to get a part ... Show in the west "OH CALCUTTA" amazing musical... Black and white Minstrel show a Saturday night spectacular had biggest audiences of the week ... then suddenly it all stopped.

The only thing I can put my finger on is .................uuuuuuuuuuuuum ?????? Maybe not, PC or inept comment may cause a riot ...............

All about opinions, love the guy. He has the best because he is the best, simple.

I don’t agree with his stance on taking ‘the knee’, for reasons I’ve explained many times, although I do agree about getting rid of racism. love him or hate him There’s no doubt he’s bucked the trend by making it in a sport which is definitely incredibly elitist.

He’s incredibly driven which can appear arrogant and not at all “British”. Here’s hoping for 8 world titles, if not this year then hopefully next.

I would rather have Lewis than Verstappen

Went to Silverstone this year - if you have not been it's something you should do at least once

Rafiq lost some of the high ground following the anti-semetic posts (Labour party needs to also get it's house in order there) - but having said that what happened to him was harrowing.

I also highly rate Lewis, cracking, top of the shop driver, a true world champion at his sport, I also soley judge him on his capability, his politics and life views are his own and good luck to him, I'll take care of Mrs Wiz and our family.

Damon Hill said about his performance last Saturday. The best weekend performance he’s seen ever, from ANY driver .

Botas commented after the race that “Lewis’ performance was “on another planet” , and that’s from his team mate that’s leaving the team at the end of the season, so doesn’t have to, and isn’t towing the team line.

He was immense, of course he needs a decent car, but give him the car and he’ll out perform it. Max is awesome too mind you.

You cant but help admiring the achievments in sport of any race creed or colour. I was a super fan until the BLM fiasco's and the knee and he seemed to jump in with both feet, as did the itv local wx man. Always look out for the F1 result and wish him on to win .....

I am totally against racism but some of the stuff going on now makes me want to vomit. The political correctness has far outstripped it's intended outcome and you only have to watch T.V. to see what I mean and one example is the new version of the "Darling Buds of May". Do they truly believe that the age in which that series was made would have included a boyfriend of colour or indeed a rural village filled with people of ethnicity? The ads featured during this show, and just about every other, has to feature an overwhelming majority of so called ethnic representation beyond what could be described as normal. When you add in all the other groups that clamour for, and get, recognition it is starting to make the usual viewing somewhat galling as the intended affect doesn't hit the mark for me because it isn't even close to the life that I live. The next time you watch a football match just watch and see what happens after a goal is scored and see the reaction between the players from different ethnic groups and tell me if they don't take on a different persona when accepting accolades for the goal they have just scored (not available in your area due to problems -lol). The worst part of all of this for me is that try as hard as we may we will never overcome the attitudes of the people who are claiming abuse against themselves (rightly so in a lot of cases) are starting to develop an irritating habit of becoming holier than thou and above criticism. Wake up and stand up before the original complainants become the biggest problem and the messy stuff starts hitting the fan.

planning for tv where possible we record the programmes we watch. In a 1 hour programme adverts are about 5 mins x 3 or you could say a 60 min programme has about 45 mins of viewing. So starting watching 15 mins late we just zoom through the adverts.
I did a post on here of the saturation of "unbalanced representation" that sprung up after the BLM events. Did it over 6 months .. online adverts went totally overboard, either Matalan or Primark catalogue also massive inbalance, got a comment from a 13 year old of I dont shop there anymore because .... IT WASNT RACIST, but referred to everything seems to be made for them now, it was OK before. And her explanation was logical 6 pics on a page 3 for the main population and 3 for different ethenicities. [ her group of friends totalled 8, girls [ 1 a GD] and 5 boys ] 1 girl mxd race, 2 boys black, 1 girl Indian descent, 1 girl mixed race chinese... all 12-14 years old. All have opinions on racism ... anti racism that is ...

    Spot on

Luckily I was ill recently and was off work. Otherwise I would have had to sit through being told I'm white privileged (again) and learning how to overcome any Islamophobia that I might have.

Virtually every advert on British TV these days is a skewed and perverse take on modern life using minority groups that I'll wager 95% of the population have little or no association with. But because it's worthy and gives everyone representation, we're supposed to say how clever and woke big business and the Ad Men are.

    It's wholly distasteful.

Which some people will also object to, as the MD of PepsiCo recently e-mailed all of his staff asking them to be 'less white'

Also good to see that the Brit Awards are now jumping on the pandering bandwagon and from next year there will be no awards for Best Male Group/solo performer, or Best Female group/solo performer but just BEST ARTIST. So they are losing at least one award category.

So if the winners of this award becomes dominated by successive male, female (or even non binary if that's really a thing) winners over several years on the bounce, will the other gender types get upset, and say it's been prejudiced against them, or will the winners be deliberately alternated to avoid that ?

This reminds me of the many schools who during Sports Day gave out medals to all kids attending for fear that any child who isn't a winner won't feel left out and resentful. How is that any sort of preparation for real life and how does it teach kids to be competitive ?

And going on from that, all employers now seem to be favouring candidates from ethic backgrounds over all other applicants, so gone are the days of the best candidate getting the job. And we wonder why the country is in a mess ??!!!!

I believe most of this crap originated in the States and as usual we are a couple of years behind before copying the same ridiculous ideas.
Unfortunately the mainstream & social media (instigated by the corporates & establishments) become obsessed in brainwashing the mass........and it works!!!

A few years ago many schools sold off their playing fields [ [labour .gov at time? ] as they felt the competitive aspect of 3 children in a class coming first second or 3rd would have a detrimental effect on others ............... I mean at school in the 440/880/ mile I used to get really pi***d off coming almost last [ I think not] ... but it was sweetened by coming first at other events ..lol
Strange how attitudes change .. everyone in your "school house" would cheer you on and even losing there was no BAD ATTITUDE .....
certainly advertising agencies do! check out the family make up around christmassy events! About the only one that fits in is the dinner table with the laser slicer a grouping of galactic "aliens?" .....

as for employing there are umpteen jobs going but 1000's still think they are in lockdown and sponge off the state!!! even jobs in takeaways supermarkets and stores like B&M cant get enough staff. GD now 16 moved on to college studying for a job [ likely paramedic or nursing] now works in A NATIONAL STORE who fitted her hours to suit her as they cant get staff. 2 of them do a split shift .. one the first half other the last half, down side hourly rate less than half her saturday/wed job! does 8 hours for £80 v 16 hours for £77!!! quite brainy! says to her mum "I am saving my money" so not giving you house keeping... you still get me on child benefit!
