Good job we never sacked peter Reid when he struggled at first and fans got restless. Edit, link not very good but click it an scroll down to "on this day 2000"
too true, don't think i have ever boo'd a safc player but as much as anyone else i have had the odd grumble along the way when a player messes up...it just appears to be 'the norm' now, couple of bad/below par results the boos start and the knives appear aimed at the coach/manager.
The manner of a defeat, god forbid it happens, is more important in many ways. Our recent performances have been so bad that one more like that is beyond unacceptable.
Some fans on here have a short memory or no memory in the last few seasons in the premiership they should not have been booed they should have had bricks threw at them.
yup, that was pretty much when it all began, watching those well over-paid men going through the pretence of being footballers but it did take a good while afore it really kicked off and if i am honest most was pretty much deserved...that was during 6 or 7 seasons of dire football stinking the league out, these days 3 or 4 below par games and the boos begin.
pointed out years ago, micky looks like he broke his neck at the point of crossing the ball, surprised he did not suffer a bit whiplash...keep an eye on him next time you watch it
Proper made the goal. He whipped it in when normally someone would have taken another touch. Quinn was nearly on his way back down when his header made contact. Without the pace on the cross the keeper would have saved it easily.
This! Cracking goal. I was at the 1st game at Stamford Bridge. The local police treated us like animals...
