You're right about the day to day need but I wonder if that needs to be a hardened football man or a competent CEO with knowledge of or an interest in football. The club is a business after all and needs managing as such, what happens on the pitch is only part of it. In that scenario I would question whether Arveladze has the skills to run a multi-million pound business. I can see a need for both a CEO and a DoF in any club, not just City. I don't see Ilicali as CEO either, he'll have his other interests to look after.
As Shota Arveladze is a head coach/manager, why on earth would be be brought in to be anything other than a head coach/manager?
If Arveladze is coming in as a director of football, there is no guarantee that he will get a work permit. Same potential barrier exists if he is coming in as head coach too.
Have to say Arveladze's record in managing/ coaching has been less then impressive so far, just hope he can hit the ground running quickly if it is him who is to replace McCann't.. personally I would have preferred an experienced head who knows what to expect at this level, but beggars can't be choosers, here's hoping.
i agree what people are saying about speculation about the new manager every day online sees a bit tacky, etc. if the takeover is really as close as it seems , and the formality of crossing the T's and dotting the i's , then surely they can come to an agreement now to get rid and get the ball rolling with the replacement. just because we beat Barnsley doesnt mean all of a sudden, hes cracked it, the same reason that i predicted a City win in that game ( because Barnsley unlikely to suddenly win 2 in a row ) is exactly the reason we probably wont win this Saturday.
Plenty of managers try their hand as a Director of Football later in their career if they haven't been overly successful as a manager, so not crazy to think he could come in in that role.
The tweet again: -> Hull City için geri sayıma geçen Acun Ilıcalı'nın anlaşma sağladığı teknik direktör Şota Arveladze çalışma izni almak için başvuru yaptı
Can we push him to be scout? in other scout relegated issues, can we have Stan Ternant back? The send him scouting to Turkey. I’d pay to watch that in a channel 4 documentary. Ternant does Turkey.
I was suggesting he come in as Director of Football which seems to be the continental preference on the footballing side. I agree you then need a business person to run the day to day running of the club. Maybe he will come in a Manager/coach, but initially, I would favour someone who knows the Championship, rather than someone who doesn't. But of course, we are not the ones making that decision, just speculating what might happen.
We are all second guessing, that said I'm sure Acun has a plan and it wouldn't surprise me if Acun himself steps in short term given his investment
They do know we've hit Winter now do they? Shivering and cold or put another way, they'll be cold Turkey when they get here.
I never suggested box ticking would or should apply to football management I explained he basis for selection which is the same as yours The box ticking I [/QUOTE] I promised myself yesterday that I would stop on this thread I am sure to many peoples pleasure, but if it is a rota then plea see explain on BBC news why that rota has never in at least the last 5 years selected two men ! I have no issue like you with viewing and listening to any capable journalist presenter and I listen to R4 for 3 full days a week . But you cannot explain this anomaly as a rota or chance it’s a conscious decision for the wrong reasons. Sooner or later if you roll dice you get a double six
