    Ayr 1.05 Go Bob Go

Fair maiden on the flat for Eve Johnson Houghton. Last time out at this track was promising when not beaten far and giving the impression todays step up in trip could unlock some improvement. I like the combo R Mike Smith/Ryan Mania in handicaps like this. Worth a small each way bet.

Good luck whatever you back today

In the 2.05. Lingfield it could pay off to side with bottom weight Pemberly for each way purposes. Stable in form and Pemberly run well after a break last year in 3rd on heavy ground. Ben Jones has ridden the horse in every of its last 3 runs so wouldn't be concerned that Tom Bellamy is on the other Lavelle runner.

Any thoughts about todays bumper at Ayr ? I will take a small each way chance on Ian Jardine's Star. Black Sam Bellamy gelding who had a wind surgery before todays debut and wears a tonge strap so it seems they are really trying on debut.

Just had a quick glance at the card and betting. The 2 for money have been Paddock Cottage (Nicky Richards does well in bumpers and this is a son of Derby winner Pour Moi, whose progeny are 7/21 in bumpers - drifting back out shortly before the off) and Allanahs Boy (trainer's only runner on the card, half brother to a 2m4f winning hurdler, Gavin Sheehan excellent bumper jockey). The favourite is with the Crawfords who do really well in this type of race and was sold to Munir / Souede after coming 3rd in a Punchestown bumper. That is probably good enough to win this. Vintage Fizz is being nibbled at before the off whilst the form of Geordies Dream's win doesn't look good enough to suggest he can win this under a penalty.

    In summary:

    1. Carnfunnock
    2. Allanahs Boy
    3. Paddock Cottage
