The Premier League has secured a new pandemic-busting TV deal with NBC for the American rights worth $2.7 billion (£2 bn). The record-breaking six-year deal starts next season and its value is more than double the $1 billion of the previous contract. It comes at an important time for the 20 clubs recovering from losing a total of £2 billion from the pandemic and the Premier League said it will contribute towards the £1.6 billion of broadcast revenue it passes on to the lower leagues, the grassroots game and communities.
