Could of been a lot bigger headlines if it wasn’t for the Taxi driver from what’s been said.

Absolute bloody hero that man....!!!!.. whatever awards can be given to him should be...!!!

I listened to the officers front of camera report saying 'unfortunately one person had died'..... I suspect she wishes she could say differently now knowing the circumstances... 'fortunately'...

I bet his insurance company still give him a hard time..

Seems to be an incredible act of bravery not to mention quick thinking. An absolute legend.

I remember one woman reporter asking after a suicide bombing in Afghanistan if the suicide bomber was amongst the casualties.

Just seen the video of it and it’s hard to believe he’s come out alive from that. Absolute hero and prevented a much worse outcome regardless of wherever the target was.

A definite candidate for a medal. And a meaningful one when you look at some of the medals people get for doing nothing in comparison,

Isn't the George Medal/Cross the highest that can be awarded to a civilian for bravery?

I don't know if the Cross can be awarded to a civvy. In this case, I think it should.

Until I saw the video, I was thinking he'd locked the doors once he was outside, which would have been brave enough, but **** me, having seen the video, what an absolute hero.

It can be. The first ever one awarded was awarded to a civilian in Bridlington.

I was thinking the same. Big bang, fire breaks out. None of the people approaching the taxi seem to have associated it with an act of terrorism, seemingly there is someone else trapped inside. Try to help, not, feet don't fail me now.
