Exactly one year ago this was the main headline story on the BBC Sports (not just the football) page. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/9120108.stm Where were you and what were you doing when you either read this or heard it from some other media? What were the first thoughts that went through your mind?
I remember it well. I had just arrived at a hotel in Winchester. After entering our room, a couple of texts on my phone alerted me to the news. My reasonably understanding girlfriend got ready for our evening whilst I sat watching the BBC News Channel on our room's television. I then made several calls, sent texts, emails. I honestly remember feeling sick. Then, as the night went on, more and more stories emerged describing it as a tactical move by the club and soon things began to look more positive. However, at the time, I certainly felt like it really would be the end of our club.
I was too shocked to put much input into 606 on the day itself, but I did 'pen' my thoughts the following morning. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A75996599
