It seems I'm alone in liking British TV drama - such as Spooks, DCI Banks, Silent Witness, Waking the Dead......... Also absolutely love British comedy - QI, Mock the Week, HIGNFY, Would I Lie to You and 8 Out of 10 Cats. I totally cannot watch any soaps or the so called reality shows - find them nauseating :emoticon-0119-puke:

As for movies - am a sucker for the Bourne Trilogy, can watch them over and over. Also like Harrison Ford's Witness - still have disturbing dreams over Kelly McGillis' wash house scene! :emoticon-0111-blush

BB - That might we worth a separate thread "Favourite Movie Scenes"...Some of mine

In the Battle of Britain in the hotel room as the air-raid starts
In Crocodile Dundee just before the heroine gets attacked by the crocodile and it bites her drinking bottle (you have to be quick with the pause button)

I don't know if anyone has seen the TV series Mad Men, but it's fantastic and I highly recommend it!
I also like Mock the Week, QI, Would I Lie To You and the other programs like this. In terms of comedy series', I find the The IT Crowd hilarious :)

A film about bomb disposal. It won an Oscar, probably because it's about American troops in Iraq.

Do you mean Hurt Locker?? It was tipped for many oscars against Avatar. It was made by James Cameron's ex i believe.

Oh yes! How could i forget Torchwood! Duh. And Rocky Horror i think i must have seen a gazillion times, and went to the 30th anniversary production :)...though RO'B didn't like that production..and it certainly wasn't the best.

I also like QI, MTW, HIGNFY and Would I Lie to You - I just wish the Beeb would settle on a regular presenter for HIGNFY as I think that spoils it a bit.

Well spotted H :emoticon-0100-smile - I loved that film and it has a song that has become a bit of a Trance classic as well..so I put the words on my signature as well.

I've put the book on by Christmas List as I had not heard of it before. Song was called Song To The Siren - was written by Tim Buckley way back in the 70's, made famous by This Mortal Coil and turned into a Trance Classic - most recently Ferry included on his brilliant Olympia album. First verse goes...

    On the floating, shapeless oceans
I did all my best to smile
til your singing eyes and fingers
drew me loving into your eyes.

Well worth listening to the Ferry version - I am playing it on the iMac as i type....
