Third Time Lucki was explosive again until Skelton almost pulled him up at the 2nd last. Nerves on the jockey's part no doubt, after recent events, but hopefully that will have done his confidence a bit of good.
Zanza out with the washing down the back straight before running on to finish 6th or 7th I think. Strange race he has run - I think he doesn't handle Cheltenham that well as he put in several dodgy leaps out the back and looked under pressure leaving the stands. I wonder whether he was ridden to get the trip................ Good boost for Allmankind's form from the winner
I wonder if Mackelduff can continue his progress here at Cheltenham? Did it really well at Aintree last time
Unlucky today with Proschema (I think he was clearly going to win) , Nietzsche horrendous. I'll try again tomorrow.
Saturday punt, and one to avoid,, sadly, I guess! 15:50 Uttoxeter - Art Of Illusion (Stable should have gelding ready for this after 196-day break. Ridden by 7lb. claimer Caoillin Quinn for the Warren Greatrex yard. Rider inexperience not quite so important in a flat race, as it certainly is over hurdles and fences, IMHO? 5/1 best price at time of writing, and is available in two places at time of writing.)
Yep, Stick was quite right a while back, the 7lb. claim isn't there for nothing, and selection was not well-ridden inasmuch as horse was taken wide all the way round, just about, So, Stick, I will try hard to pay attention in the future! A hearty well-done to all the winners today!
