I think Warnock would want too much of a say on playing style and personal. Hodgson would be a good shout but unlikely to be tempted.
Back to the point about relegation being a good thing in the long run Not in my book. Ask Sunderland, Charlton, Plymouth, Ipswich etc fans. I accept that it can have a galvanising effect eg Southampton, Leeds, Norwich but there’s no guarantee whatsoever of promotion so I’d rather start next season in the championship.
So if rumours are true then Morison will be appointed until the end of the season before the weekend. That will make most of us happy (including the players) and I believe it's the correct decision
I think there's more to come on this Morison appointment. If it was as simple as that, it would have been revealed by the club officially. Leaking that Morison is carrying on to the Beeb was probably done to subdue the fans clamour for positive news. I wouldn't mind betting (not that I'm a betting man of course ) there's more revelations to come. Possibly another man at the top to oversee footballing affairs - in other words the mythical DoF? Maybe the delay is they're finalising the details and the pair will be revealed together? I can't see any other reason for not announcing the alleged Morison deal officially through the club's own website/media.
Steve Morison appointed First Team Manager | Cardiff (cardiffcityfc.co.uk) Over the moon, Morison & Hudson.
Getting the Hudson deal over the line was probably the delay in announcing it yesterday when the Beeb pre-empted Morison's appointment. Congratulations due all round, especially to Tan for apparently listening to sense this time.
Potentially excellent news. We now have 2 "winnable" games coming up that could go some way to seeing just how far we've come under the new gaffer. Once again, going to be an interesting ride from hereon
Some sense from the board on a football decision. Hudson is an interesting choice. Best of luck to both
At last we're rid of the temptation of renaming tbe stadium "Jurassic Park". Delighted for Morison and pleased as punch to see Hudson come home. C'mon you Bluebirds.
At his time in Cardiff Hudson was known as a brilliant captain because of his ability to talk to the players. He was well liked by all.
Very articulate and measured in his media interviews - I liked the guy back then and he'll get a lot of respect from the squad.
Great to see that the club seems to have made the right choices with the appointments. It's unusual for them to not have supporters criticising then and they've made a massive step forward in bringing the club and fan base together again. If it is a successful chain of appointments then excellent but, should it fail, nobody can blame them for a lack of ambition and a bad choice. I believe it'll be the former target than the latter.
Completely agree LLF, very well worded. The one tiny concern I have is if it does go wrong, there's many supporters (less knowledgeable than us on here of course ) that will accuse the club of lacking ambition and taking the cheapest possible option, whilst again questioning VTs commitment to the club.... It's a sad state of affairs but sadly many of our fans have succumbed to being "sheep" and thinking that's it's always right to spend millions and anything less is a lack of ambition and a sign he wants out. Of course, that ignores the fact he's kept us afloat all this time but why should they let reality get in the way of a good moan eh? All credit to the board for making a brave choice.
Still need an 'experienced negotiator'. Dalman isnt it. A lot of wheeling and dealing to be done in the next few months. Hope Morison is working on his 're-negotiate' list. Would like to see Ralls, Morrison and McGuiness tied down. Possibly Pack. Need to hang on to a few older heads.
