Bristol City CEO makes Han-Noah Massengo claim as contract talks begin with key players Bristol City have 23 players out of contract over the next 18 months, including Han-Noah Massengo, Tomas Kalas and Dan Bentley https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-massengo-contract-talks-6191826
These 7 have contracts until next Summer - Danny Simpson, Robbie Cundy, Louis Britton, Andy King, Chris Martin, Tyreeq Bakinson and Callum O’Dowda~ Who would you keep?
That depends. I would have answered ‘none’ to this like RR did - until I saw Diedhiou and Paterson leave without being replaced. If we just let them go without being replaced then we’d better keep them.
In my mind I look to the future based on events from the past. Past BCFC [ [ SL latest owner ] owners have always come over as wanting top drawer football and a good ground, and to ground have kept it up to scratch ... prem ...no SL CAME IN WITH A VISION and has been relatively successful with it. I knew SL briefly back in the 80's, owe him and his company then for helping me on the rest of my journey. He was a meticulous and patient person, that why he succeeded. as owner of BCFC some of this almost 40 years ago resolve seems to have melted!!!! ... He has achieved a lot, an awful lot and will known as a "hero" for decades to come. " we need a plan" to ---"5 pillars - to rebuilt stadium -- buy youngsters, train, and supplement squad also as income to get in black --- build in continuity --- progress up division to get top 6 /prem" sort of going OK but stalled ------- put his foot down and LJ LEFT --------------- at this point we had made our way toward the the top of the hill but ran out of steam??? ----- actually we undermined ourselves and covid was upon us . SL who in the 80'S HAD A BUSINESS PLAN and loads of resolve maintained a great deal of what had made him who he was and continuity prevailed, but something happened behind the blanket of Covid, no crowds and income minimal MARCH 2021 SAW yet another change ..... hyped by some as the messiah had arrived, broke with continuity and CEO had announced he was leaving but still pulled the strings, never negotiated contracts and left the club in a quagmire ......... Since a statement pre season SL has been very quiet, at a time like now he should be telling the fans, being the man he was in the 80's what is happening, what he is going to do about it. Because you are a CEO or director you should be more open, as the owner you should be leading from the front, get a grip.. let the fans who provide half the income know what the money and support is going to achieve. We nearly got it right a season or 2 ago, lets do it again put the wheels back on the tracks and put the stuttering beast into gear .... and lets enjoy the ride ... written at 150pm not posted till now called away urgent business .....
In amongst the Eaton mess interview by RG is a lot of driftwood comments some of it useful!!! Major statement was SELL HNM?...no way we need him for the future. Distant plans have been to build a squad to get promoted, but each season saw a rebuild [ or A sale in January undermining progress ] latest plan is a 3 year one ...this first year we are still wading around in the W-S-M, just beyond the low tide mark, mud, it's still only ankle deep but we need to retreat back up the beach! the tide is coming in ----- This season we would really need 6 players of the squad to be / that will be here in 23/24 season, next season should be 7 -9 players and season 23/24 the core of a team to get us to play offs/ promo. So before Jan 1st we need at least 6 [ providing young and progressive or experienced and worthy ] to be contracted to July 2024. NO GOOD keeping a player that starts a season, whose contract ends 46 games later, either get rid or add a year [ or 2 or ] can still sell at end of that season [ 1 year left ] or January ... for some thing ..£x! ASHTON seemed to have a plan .... "see how I turned the finances around" ... actually really, its sad how he screwed the progress of the team! January.... its all been said regarding pro's and cons of Jan window, would be very hypocritical to change the thinking and overspend on a player or 2 when you look at our set up. What is the academy for?? we have players in it [ over 21 ] playing for / in international match's so they are on a high ------use them ------------ we know the majority of our squad is capable, first 8 or 9 games were up in the mix, last few games victims of ill Manager ........ why waste money on players , as hasty stop gaps when the summer would enable more money [ bigger budget ] better players and more realistic fee's. do we actually undermine the mental health / and ability to show their worth of our players by not recognising they are capable?
