People can make their own informed decisions, the key word there being informed, the only people I know personally who’ve refused the vaccine have believed bullshit they’ve read on SM, notably Facebook, my step sister being one. Her ‘logic’ when asked about it, is the full conspiracy theory knackers that’s been served to her via algorithm.

I'm up for anybody taking anything they want by choice if they are adults and capable of understanding all sides of evidence available(remember that idea)...what I disagree with are that people are losing their job because they are using that freedom supposedly available in a free country.....jab or lose job you have worked hard for ain't my idea of a just and equal society fella.

 

I thought flu jabes were offered to all over 50's now. I know I was offered a jab and no one checked my age at the pharmacy before offering me it.

 

Flu kills. Over the last 18 months they have moved to lower the ages offered. Was just young and old.

Douglas Ferguson, a surgeon at Exeter Hospital, said it was the government's responsibility to protect the population, describing the policy as "quite sensible".

"I think, to be honest, if people who don't want to be vaccinated feel that an injection, which is very well scientifically researched, is something that they decide they're going to change their entire career for, it seems unwise, I would say."

Overall, Mr Ferguson thought the move was likely to be welcomed by staff.

"If all the staff know everybody else is vaccinated - I mean the majority are already anyway - I think it would give further confidence in you doing your job and potentially from those members of staff also."

He added that he only knew of one colleague who had chosen not to be vaccinated.

In the NHS, more than 92% of frontline staff have had their first dose and 89% are fully vaccinated - higher than the general working-age population, where about 81% have had both doses.

 

I hear of someone unvaccinated who avoids large capacity crowds, protecting the greater population/greater good.
