Enjoy your trip down memory lane Canada, hopefully you'll return to California in great spirit and uplifted by your visit
Give it all you've got, Canada. I feel very lucky. From my window I see a tree, but in that tree, there's Squirrels, Owls, the occasional Woodpecker and often my ****ing chocolate brown Cat I'm better off than most. Be well, Canada x
Same as me CT. Born in Woodmansey, used to look forward to Green mail every Saturday in the footy season and finally got to a match when we moved to Hull when I was ten.
Many thanks to you all for your kind words and best wishes. I hope that in 2-3 weeks we will have new owners and a new era will begin for our beloved Hull City Tigers. God willing I will be back next season to see us challenging again for promotion to the Premiership. Take care and UTT !!!
Keep smiling mate and fingers crossed you'll continue to be a tiger for quite a while yet and revisit again soon
Seems we are not destined to meet up CT. We had 2 previous trips in the past few years to Canada/ USA lined up but were both cancelled due to illness. My husband has been to both countries several times on business and met some of my many relations in the US but I have never been. Particularly wanted to visit Vancouver Island where my dad's parents lived for a while in Victoria. They had a holiday place place on nearby Salt Spring Island where you resided for several years. The only traveling we will be doing in the future is within Aus and currently we are planning to leave our Mountain home of 20 odd years and relocate to a warmer coastal area about 200 miles away. Keep battling away CT as I know you will. Best wishes to yourself and your family.
Great to hear from you Mrs BMB and thanks so much for your kind wishes. I'll keep battling on as I know you and Mr BMB are. Still a lot to live for but old age is a struggle. Its too bad we have never been able to meet up. We would have loved to have you stay with us at our lovely home on Salt Spring where we lived for 20 years till last year. But like you we relocated to a warm coastal area in Southern California, where 4 of our kids, and our grandkids live. I think our traveling days are also over but we have managed to revisit our hometowns in Hull/Beverley and Liverpool in the past few weeks. Anyhow take care and keep in touch. Our very best to you both. God bless !!!
Whether or not travelling days are done - it's now a virtual world. You can watch city anywhere and you're welcome here always. Look forward to trading opinions for many years to come...
The mention of Salt Spring took me back 2 years almost to the day when I was on Thetis Island visiting a friend of my wife. Whilst there I met a 20 year resident of Thetis who was from Hull, not only that she was brought up within 400 yds of my boyhood home. Astonishing coincidence! I knew she was from Hull the second she opened her mouth because of the Hessle Road variety of the Hull accent! Take care of yourself.
