In terms of a replacement. Not sure mate but LJ is not the man. I don't think we should waste the international break. If something doesn't dramatically change we are going to get absolutely smashed against an inform Ipswich.
I hate going against my own but I’m really intrigued to see how the bookies price Ipswich up that day… The way we’re going it’s a nailed on away win.
We're in to the q/f of the league cup We've topped the pizza cup group stage We are in the top 5 of the league 5 points of top 2 with a game in hand Could it be better league position wise yes Have we been poor the last 3 weeks yes Up until the last 3 weeks in the league were we playing great football and flying yes Are we capable of getting back to winning yes If we sacked the manager now we would look like them stupid bastards up the road
Was just talking in terms of what’s your thoughts mate and I agree, something needs to change, this goes beyond this streaky Lee thing
We look totally lost in possession and have lost the ability to press when out of possession. If Johnson can't find a way to get it back he has to go..... I'd give him 3 games. Fail to get at least 6 points then he's gone
The trouble is we've been more than poor. We've been appalling. The opposition shoots the opposition scores . We shoot and nothing happens. It can't just be poor players not up to the standard, we were almost unbeatable then totally beatable. The team organisation looks appalling. Look at todays goal, ball down the left and passed to an open opponent with no one thinking if covering our right side defender. Its just poor defending thanks to poor training .. its poor management.
So what do you recon has happened ? Do you think that LJ has said right lads things are going great we are playing brilliantly we've just beat Crewe away 4-0. Now what I want you to do is suddenly keep giving the ball away stop doing what I've drilled in to you in the first 3 months of the season ?
I disagree. I think it proves that he will stand by his man as long as he possibly can and try and break the reputation we had under Ellis Short. Don't get me wrong, he has to act at a point where the bigger picture takes priority, but a true leader will give his people the best possible chance. My views are that he gets Ipswich + 2 games. Fan pressure might mean Ipswich only but if it was me in KLD boots I'd give him a little but more time.
We've got to give him more time. It's a massive mystery as to why we have got so bad after being so good, but I'd like to see him turn it around now and if he does, it could be a big turning point. Moyes is a case example. I hung onto him too long but he's doing well at West ham ffs. I think more of Johnson and want him to ride this out and push us on. He's won us a shìtty cup at Wembley FFS, I say shìtty cup but he put that Wembley hoodoo to bed. I really think we'll get promotion under him. If not, there's no animosity from me, Lets see if we can put this poor run behind us. If we do, it could be pivotal.
Didn't see the Charlton game but by all accounts it was poor but we could have won with a better referee. Rotherham, we were outplayed and out thought by their manager, Sheff Wed was always a going to be a hard game. Suddenly, out of nowhere you've lost 3 games and confidence takes a hit, players start feeling the weight of responsibility and start thinking more and trying too hard. Mistakes lead to goals, goals lead to defeats and everyone is nervous. before you know it, we've lost 5 out of 6
pre-season and first few games, although we did not 'dominate' teams we were capable of playing around and through the opposition, we saw a more forward thinking type of play, this put us on the front foot when pressing and we were winning games while still capable of a lot more. we all expected the squad to improve as time and confidence grew, after all there are a few young lads and plenty new faces in the squad but our start was better than anticipated, not polished but grinding out the wins, always likely to score and to keep the opposition out towards the end of games...not the best scenario but we accepted it. then we hit the pompey debacle and for some reason that single game which should not have gone ahead seemed to drain the confidence, i do not believe the manager has suddenly decided to try and get the lads to play a completely different game but i do believe as he is the manager then it is up to him and his staff to be able to see the reason or problem and correct it, even if it means a couple of tight draws to gain some confidence back...i am never one to start the shouting for a change of manager but if he cannot get this squad back to early season form at least then we need someone that can.
I will be pleasantly surprised if we get 6 points out the next 9, that is what is needed to save this bloke's job. Me , I would sack him now
As I have said I am torn on thus but extremely worried..There is evidence of losing streaks and that would make me nervous on any run in An argument that is always used is we have to stop changing managers but stability is only good if you consider LJ can turn it around. I have to say I have some doubts. Perhaps still on the fence bit teetering and beginning to fall off
Sounds about right to me. This run can't be allowed to continue beyond then. We are conceding easy goals and barely scoring at the other end. A recipe for disaster. Results and performances have to improve and if they don't, we have to give a successor enough time to assess his squad and sit down with Speakman to design a solution to our problems.
No one can put their finger on why we have suddenly gone from dazzling to dire mate. The worrying thing is that clearly our coaching staff can't put their fingers on it either and they are the one's who are paid to put things right.
