Classy. If it were me, the c word would be scattered liberally and there would be tears and a lot of pointing and shouting.
Van De Beek was class for Ajax, I think he would actually be a great fit for Spurs. Think Rafa VdV said the same thing about him too.
Either Ndombele or Bryan should replace Moura, I think, at least against teams that sit back. I haven't seen a lot of Bryan, and he is so young it's questionable whether he's ready. But what I've seen of his close control, passing and attitude makes me think he's a good fit for Conte, and eventually at least a better fit than Ndombele. The Sessegnon of a few years ago was a good scorer. I'm not sure his passing was ever good enough to be a starting WB. But he could at least be a good reserve option. The idea I find intriguing is Son at LWB--can't remember who suggested it. I noticed Reguilon was closer to Son's favorite positions than Son was under Conte. And while I really appreciate Reguilon's attitude, so far he's simply been too up and down in quality for me to want him as a starter, as opposed to a reserve. If Son moves to LWB, Ndombele or Bryan could move into the team without sacrificing Moura. While I find Moura not good enough at times, the problem to me isn't a lack of quality--I think he tends to get the right ball to the man in the right place more than all but a couple of our players--but his really annoying habit of putting his head down and dribbling into a blind alley. Maybe Conte can coach that out of him. He certainly causes a lot of problems for other teams. In a nutshell, I'd definitely take him over Reguilon. Finally, as disappointing as he's been, I'd like to see lo Celso tried in Hojbjerg's spot. I think his ceiling may be higher, though Hojbjerg has been a lot more reliable. I thought he was pretty poor Sunday, but he was still effective shielding the back line.
Alright come on then, Conte predictions: Will he last the full 18 months of his contract and if so, do you think the option to extend his deal will be triggered? Where will we finish this season under him? If you believe he'll be here for the full 18 months, where will we finish next season under him? First Conte signing? First Conte departure? Player who'll shine under Conte? Player who'll struggle under Conte? Will we win a trophy under Conte and if so, which one(s)?
Will he last the full 18 months of his contract and if so, do you think the option to extend his deal will be triggered? - Yes Where will we finish this season under him? - 5th If you believe he'll be here for the full 18 months, where will we finish next season under him? - 4th First Conte signing? - de Vrij First Conte departure? - Dele Player who'll shine under Conte? Emerson - to the point where he notably becomes one of the best RWBs in Europe. Player who'll struggle under Conte? Tanganga - I really hope he can force his way into the three at the back but I fear it might not happen and he isn't someone who can play RWB effectively enough like Emerson Will we win a trophy under Conte and if so, which one(s)? Europa Conference League this season, League Cup next season.
All I know is if we don’t deliver it’s because of the players(been blaming them for approx 3 years now) or Levy/ENIC(blaming them for approx 10 years) not Conte(won the league at his last 3 clubs)
Will he last the full 18 months of his contract and if so, do you think the option to extend his deal will be triggered? - Yes Where will we finish this season under him? - Top 6 If you believe he'll be here for the full 18 months, where will we finish next season under him? - Top 4 First Conte signing? - Kessie First Conte departure? - Clarke (loan) Player who'll shine under Conte? - Emerson Player who'll struggle under Conte? - Bergwijn Will we win a trophy under Conte and if so, which one(s)? - Yes
This is tough. His appointment and the additional bargaining power he has over the club's board, that he has over previous coaches, should mean that we're entering a different phase of operation. If we're not, my answer to the first question will definitely change. Will he last the full 18 months of his contract and if so, do you think the option to extend his deal will be triggered? Yes and maybe. If we've not misled him. He loves London and with some astute and more aggressive backing, the club has the infrastructure to reward him. Where will we finish this season under him? 5th or 6th. With this squad, that'll be the ceiling. If you believe he'll be here for the full 18 months, where will we finish next season under him? Top 4. We'd need really major surgery to think about finishing top. First Conte signing? If there's a time to get Vlahovic, it's in January. In the summer, we'll get muscled out. First Conte departure? Dele really doesn't seem to fit Conte's philosophy or set up. Rodon needs to play football. One of those two. Player who'll shine under Conte? Skipp and if he can stay fit, Sessegnon. His attacking quality is better than Reguillon's. Player who'll struggle under Conte? They're all going to suffer. Bergwijn really hasn't worked out and I'm not sure that he's that resilient mentally. Winks has probably met his match, too. Will we win a trophy under Conte and if so, which one(s)? A cup. It's not his forte, but let's hope he can land something.
I agree...but I'm not predicting us to win the league. I have thought that thought about 3 times in over 50 years of supporting Spurs. I'll not be doing it again...even if we spent £1 billion on new players.
Will he last the full 18 months of his contract and if so, do you think the option to extend his deal will be triggered? - yes and yes. I think this is crunch time for Levy and he’s working under Paratici, who he has had success with before. If he doesn’t get backed I’ll be shocked. Where will we finish this season under him? - 5th or 6th If you believe he'll be here for the full 18 months, where will we finish next season under him? - top 4 First Conte signing? - Kessie First Conte departure? - Of the senior players, Bergwijn Player who'll shine under Conte? - Emerson and Skipp Player who'll struggle under Conte? - Dele Will we win a trophy under Conte and if so, which one(s)? - I don’t think we will this year, unless it’s one of the domestic cups. Conte doesn’t have a great European record so I think he’ll treat the ECL (and EL) as opportunities to get the squad more game time and for them to learn his system. CL can’t be as easily dismissed of course. I think it’ll be cups for the next couple years and then if everything goes well, a push for the top of the league in year 3.
Apparently the players not on duty have today and tomorrow off and then Conte plans to essentially have a mini preseason with them all which will include double training sessions.
I get that, that's fair. Waiting to see if it's de Vrij, Kessie and Vlahovic instead of Hanley, Shelvey and Vydra... Smart.
