Arsenal seemed to want the ball more for the whole game - we were apparently happy to stand and wait for it, allowing them to nip in and take it. But our performance overall was a lot better than I expected - makes me feel more positive about the four games ahead of us.
I would want to see it again, but it appeared to me that we should have received a freekick for a foul on Sarr in the buildup to the goal.
I watched it on Sky Alan Smith should never ever commentate on another football match The reason they scored was not just because of the foul on Sarr it was because Danny Rose put the ball into touch so another Watford player who had been taken out by Arsenal could get some treatment The foul on Sarr should have resulted in a booking and not a goal for Arsenal, the Arsenal left back was booked earlier for less of a tackle than the blatant bodycheck that led to their goal, the pundits after the game said Arsenal should have given the ball back to us and failing that we should have been given a free kick for the bodycheck on Sarr King should have taken a touch and got a better angle and could have scored the equaliser I know they had the better of the game but how many more times are we going to be cheated by crap referees
We’re in the wrong thread, Mex, , but Canelo is simply awesome. I love how he watches, observes weaknesses during fights then exploits them. It’s like he does his research in the ring. Great fighter.
Yes, but we ‘nipped in’ quite a bit and took it from them, too. I thought our defensive midfield players were particularly strong in that regard. The Gunners certainly didn’t have it all their own way, and I agree, I feel positive that we are showing up for games now.
I watched the game (TV not live). I accept that Arsenal made more chances ,we had some fortune. But , what is the point when the Arsenal goal comes about the way it did. The referee abandoned any sense of fair play, and the VAR system ignoring the foul on Sarr makes it worthless. I'm more sad than angry (although quite angry) . From a performance viewpoint, I think our midfield is too pedestrian.
Friend was an absolute disgrace. Is the challenge on Tufan much different from the one for which Kucka had his marching orders? Was the attack on Sarr not at the very f€cking least a foul (let alone cards for “reckless” challenge)? And that’s just the goal.
The Arse nal so called fans wont have but the challenge on Sarr would have been a foul in rugby League
Ex-Premier League referee: Arsenal goal should have been disallowed as controversial Maitland-Niles footage emerges Arsenal should have had their goal against Watford chalked off for a foul in the build-up, according to Keith Hackett. Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee insisted Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ “push” on Ismaila Sarr should have been punished by the officials.
Seems the refs not involved with the PGMOL appear to be more willing to criticise a decision than those who are - unsurprisingly.
