I remember plenty keen to don a fez when the Allams first took over, some of them who wouldn't be seen dead supporting Hull City now 'because of the Allams' You know who you are...
I remember Tim Wilby in Hull City Hall taking the piss out of the few of us that had bought a season pass before Lloyd's takeover. Others cheered him to the rafters even when he mentioned City playing at the Boulevard, personally I've trusted no football club chairman since, a policy that's served me well.
So what, what ? The post wasn't in reply to you. It was a sarcastic reply to the post suggesting our chances of winning today went out of the window when it was announced that Baxter was making his debut for us. I thought Baxter was outstanding today.
I remember from the same meeting the 'what did he just say' whispering when he announced that we would be re named Hull City Tiger Sharks.
There was a fella sat a few rows in front of us, who always had a chuckle when I shouted 'Come on Haaall'
It wasn’t a flare it was a smoke canister, completely different, however, why throw it? Just spark it, chuck it in front of you on the floor, no one will know who let it off, no danger to anyone, youth of today, thick ****s
A much-needed win, and performance reminiscent of last season. Without being too negative, and any win is a good win, Barnsley looked a Div 1 side, the game reminded me of last season. We know we can get the better of league one sides, but we need to start proving now we can have similar performances and results against better opposition before we can start to feel we turned the corner. There is no doubt we have missed Honeyman, he brings a different dimension to our play. I thought both Greaves and Bernard were excellent as was KLP. He looked more like his old self, but he benefits when Honeyman plays, as Honeyman pulls players out of position, which gives others space. Emmanuel and Elder were also good, but why Wilk's is still getting a start God & McCann only knows because he continues to be a waste of a shirt. I thought Longman when he came on gives more to the team, though he should have scored when he hit the post. Nevertheless, to have a Saturday evening to reflect on 2 goals and a win, what's not to like.
I was saying that I expected us to win, but the last time I saw Baxter, I think it was against L1 Wigan, he was flapping like a bird! I’ve no idea, probably like McCann, why he was in, didn’t have a lot to do, but did what he had to do well. I also didn’t realise how bad Barnsley are either.
That was the plan. FC were already called Hull Sharks and the two clubs were to merge, playing from one ground, which that night was said to be the boulevard and we were to be renamed Hull City Tiger Sharks. Most of those present were so relieved to get a change of ownership that Wilby could have said anything and he would have been cheered off the stage. As he was.
Much much much better performance if we play like that every week we will be fine & slowly climb the table
