2 weeks ago we beat Crewe 0-4 and looked like a top 2 team as we have done in the majority of games before that playing exciting entertaining football

Now 3 defeats on the trot including 2 awful performances have give us all a huge shock and massive doubts about our credentials.

Football is a barmy sport you can go from one extreme to the other in the blink of an eye. Look at arsenal this season started off the season terribly and everyone thought arteta would be gone but arsenal stuck by him and they have improved incredibly in the last few games

I still believe we have the quality in the squad to challenge top 2 after all they've proved it in a lot of games this season. I do believe though that we need extra quality in January, a big strong mobile midfielder and extra pace out wide.

We're all deflated a bit ATM understandably but there's no reason that this squad can't go on a run of games picking up a lot of points.

Not a hope unless we invest heavily in Jan. Some eye poppingly good signings not long shots and tepid prospects.

I still think we are more than capable of top 2.

I agree we are looking short and admit concerns, but it’s like people have been waiting for some weight to revert to type and tear into the club with the negativity.

Tell you what, I’m glad my gaffer isn’t a Mackem, by equivalent I’d get 3 bad days and I’d be ****ing fired.

I’ll be a bit disappointed if Kyril doesn’t properly weight things up first. We are 3 off top of we win game in hand. 6 point if we don’t. I can’t see too many other teams seeing that as sack the gaffer territory.

Yes, I am. I reckon the deficiencies in the squad will he addressed in January. 4 or 5 in and 2 or 3 out. I also think LJ will see the season out.

I think we can. Got to sort out why we struggle against teams with wing backs mind.

Not unless we go on a magnificent run starting now, which I just can’t see happening.

    Playoffs at best for me

Why do we need to go on a magnificent run ? We are almost averaging 2 points a game which if we continued that over the rest of the season we will more than likely finish top 2

It’s the manner of defeats IMO. It will take a massive turnaround of performances, mind it worked in reverse when we went to ****, so I suppose it could be done
We were told it was how we reacted to a defeat, well we haven’t lately and I’m not so sure Johnson’s platitudes will help the players gain any sort of confidence. That could also be blinded by the fact that I didn’t want him in the first place.

I'm not sure anymore, like you say it's barmy had we won last night things would have looked so different, if it hadn't been for some idiotic individual mistakes we could have won even though we were ****.
The bit I can't get my head around is how this is the same team that looked world beaters just a few weeks ago yet watching the last 3 games look more like relegation form team.
I can only put that down to the coaching, which is worrying, does LJ have it in him to turn things around or is he one dimensional and other teams have worked him out.
I really don't know what to think or what I feel

We're 5 points off 2nd with a game in hand. We literally only need to win 2 games to get in the top 2.

Everyone around us has had a similar run already. The trick is not to have a second one.

Can I ask what you mean by the manner of the defeats? Is it the scoreline or is it the moments of poor defending? Because apart from those three occasions we weren't really outplayed last night.
Edit: Genuine question, not having a dig if that's the way it came across

Ok maybe saying magnificent was a tad over the top.

Can’t help but see streaky living up to his nickname that’s why I reckon we will need to go on a bloody good run of wins before we have yet another run of bad results.

Aye that’s fair enough, as long as he fixes whatever is wrong with the players / tactics otherwise we will slip behind.

Well to be fair, it’s the score line which is as a result of poor defending. We just seem to capitulate of late and everything into the box appears a threat. We have no presence in our own area and we can’t stop crosses coming into it. Ultimately getting thumped off Rotherham and taking a considerable defeat off a team who very rarely keep a clean sheet and have never scored 3 in a league game is little concerning. I think we all know that we can be “got at” and have a soft underbelly. I can’t see that changing any time soon
