I was at rotherham on Saturday and that performance was absolutely disgusting. The effort and commitment from the team was awful even in this league we have to match the opposition for effort and if we do that our quality will come to the front. Tonight will be another tough game, no doubt sheff wed will be right up for it but match their desire and we should come home with at least a point hopefully all 3
There's been a lot of talk about shortage of effort and about getting bullied by physical teams. But I don't recall anyone bullying a single inch of Bobby Kerr's 5' 4". And as for effort I remember reading a quote from him saying that an opposing player might get past him, but if he does he knows I'm coming right after him and won't stop until I catch him or he gets rid of the ball. This after 2 broken legs. I wouldn't mind seeing a team of 11 Bobby Kerrs. Win or lose, the opposition would know they'd been in a match. Better make that 10 Bobbys and one Monty. No, 9 Bobbys, one Monty and one Dave Watson. Anyway, you get the idea.
Not sure on where they're playing exactly but I had suggested going with O'Nien, Evans and Neil so I'm pleased to see that. It's worth a crack, worked against QPR.
If he can stop giving free kicks away his work rate and tenacity are fine, a lack of discipline has crept in recently in my opinion.
I can see why he hasn't, it's a more defensive midfield and O'Brien and Gooch will be significantly more useful in defence than McGeady and Dajaku.
It’s more to do with how exposed they’ve been for me, Gooch, O’Brien and Evans should protect them more.
