Great performance. Everything was against them today, so a massive test.
In the evening games, it's the first time a team batting second has won. The dew falling makes the ball slippery, so makes bowling and fielding difficult. It also seemed to liven up the wicket, which was absolutely dead when England started batting.
With both semis and finals in the evenings, a lot hinges on the toss.

That was a great win, never easy in the conditions, Buttler is just in majestic form, long may it continue. I just hope we haven't peaked too early.

That win yesterday will have given them so much confidence, to bat first, lose one of our bowlers, deal with the dew etc and still win was an awesome effort. The Pakistan team look equally good, but I think we have the edge in the captain, Morgan is so astute and assured, add to that hopefully Woody coming back to replace Mills and I think we get even stronger. Think we may just add another trophy here

I think you mean the first time a team batting second has lost?

Afghanistan also beat Scotland batting first but those are the only two instances so far - suggests there needs to be a gulf in standard to defend a total in an evening game. Could prove crucial at the semi / final stage as a lot will come down to winning the toss which is a bit of a shame, would be good to have more favourable conditions that suited both sides

I was lucky enough to see the IPL play off game between DC and CSK in Dubai recently and CSK won batting second. I can’t recall any real difference in conditions between first and second innings it was hot and humid all through and weather there hasn’t changed much since.

Isn't the dew a 'Sharjah' issue. So get through to the semi's and final, all of which are in Dubai so dew is less of an issue. Or have I got it arse about face?

Bit off topic but Yorkshire look to be in so much ****e with the racism allegations finally coming to a head. Sponsors leaving left right and centre and its highly likely they will be hit with enormous fines and stripped of the right to host internationals. Not an exaggeration to say they could well fold.

I do support some embarrassingly ****e sports clubs run by utter ****ers

Awful. The club have stated that Rafiq would have faced disciplinary had they known he used the term Zimbo against Ballance (which is akin to calling someone an Aussie or a Kiwi). They also concluded that Ballance using the P word is just friendly banter. In anyone's eyes, that is openly racist in itself. Their biggest sponsors are now pulling out, so in a total mess. And yet they still seem to be remaining tight lipped.

Old farts sitting in their ivory towers demonstrating how far out of touch they are, no wonder it took so long for the county to accept players from out of the area let alone Johnny foreigners ! Needs a clean sweep of directors and chairman.. and hold its hand up for being institutionally racist and biased.

Roger Hutton, the chairman of Yorkshire, has resigned over the club’s response to the racism experienced by Azeem Rafiq.
