Well we've certainly dug ourselves into a hole now. That was a 6 pointer and we got none. Omobamidele looked good for having had so little match time but it was his failure to mark Raphinha which led to their first goal. It was pure class from the Brazilian after that - shades of Sarr for Watford all over again. At least Omobamidele made up for it with his headed goal but Krul's uncharacteristic error killed any momentum we'd gained and Leeds saw the match out. Once again Normann was our best player (7.5 on WhoScored) and he plays the pivot excellently, holding the ball, beating players and passing the ball through to the attacking players. I think Sargent has had his chance now and we should play Idah or Rashica alongside Pukki. Our only chance now is to take 10 points from the next four games.
I had hopes for you, Zog, after your wonderful run last season. But not even you could deliver the goods.

Last season we built our style and tactics on Buendia (and his relationship with Pukki). This year we seem to be building it on Sargent. Hoof it up to the guy who has no ball control whatsoever, that's a good idea!
Krul a distribution is awful, I know he has been really good for us and I can kind of forgive the odd error but his kicking is so poor, yet we play the ball back to him all the time. I watched the Arsenal game the other night and Ramsdales distribution makes such a difference for them
Two poor sides to be honest. The difference ultimately was Raphinha. With him ( and to a much lesser extent) James and Rodrigo we looked like we might just create something out of nothing. Your lot huffed and puffed and threw the ball in hoping to catch a break or a mistake. There doesn't seem to be much creative spark without Buendia. To be fair Farke probably got his tactics right against our back 3. Play it long down the channels and force our 'wing backs' back in to a 5 and isolate Phillips in the middle so he can't influence the game. It worked for the most part but your lack of quality and movement in the final third will trouble you all season. See you at ER later in the season. I'd say good luck but i wouldn't mean it as I need 3 teams to finish below us.
It's rare that I go anywhere near the Strip. Not worth the aggravation with all the traffic and pedestrians.
Leeds first goal, besides being great play by Raphinha, nutmegged Kabak then deflected off Krull, before nutmegging Hanley and going into the net. This doesn't excuse our lack of offense. Rodrigo's goal was well struck from about 28 yards. I still want to see a replay to look for offsides - not that it matters now.
From the replay I saw it looked like Raphinha was on side, he looked level with Aarons and I think it would have been harsh to rule it out for that.
Thanks for that, Suffolk. I haven't seen a decent replay and was wondering why others weren't up in arms about the non-call.
I have watched a lot of the premiership this year (got to get my money's worth from my subscription) and we are not at the races. I could forgive the club for a slow start, the covid outbreak and the tough fixtures. What I don't get is continuing to play Sargent who needs to work on his first touch. Mclean was the correct choice against Burnley, but not the last two fixtures. No link-up play and hoofball. It's as if we have forgotten how to pass the ball and the selections seem to be getting more and more strange. Brentford have lost their last three including at Burley, but even them getting beaten there I think they could rip us apart. Why can't we pass or move the ball at all? Aarons is plugging away and trying to link up, but we looked so bad yesterday against another struggling team and we were at home. Why do we keep making individual errors? If Krul had have kept that shot out, I'd have actually fancied us because we had just scored and had momentum, even hoofing it to win. The Vincibles are on, we are just awful.
