Goals from Colwill, Harris and Moore meant Cardiff made an impressive come back, and earned a point which takes them 3 points above the drop zone. They sit 21st in the table, having lost their previous 8 before the draw against Stoke. That run of losses included a 0-4 loss at home to West Brom, a 5-1 loss away to Blackburn, and most painfully of all, a 3-0 loss away to local rivals Swansea. The run led to Mick McCarthy leaving the club, and being replaced on a temporary basis by their under 23's manager, Steve Morison. Aden Flint is their top scorer, with 4 goals, and they have only scored 15 in 15 games. On record, they have the worst defence in the division, having already conceded 29 goals. As for us, Friday night was a frustrating night. We didn't play amazingly well all the time, but were better than we have been of late, at times...but it wasn't consistent. Then we had our all too common lapse of concentration going into the last few minutes, and gave away a goal, two points and a playoff place. Here's hoping that an extra days rest will pay dividends, and we'll be up for it on Wednesday night for the full 90 minutes. Team News: QPR: Lee Wallace, Sam Field, Sam McCallum and Charlie Owens will all miss out for the R’s Cardiff City: James Collins and Joe Ralls are out, whilst Marlon Pack returns from suspension. Pre-match talk: Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “Cardiff picked up a big result at Stoke on Saturday. They were three goals down and could have even won the game in the end. “They have good pace and physicality. They’ve had a tough run of games and that’s cost Mick his job. “But there is no doubt about the threat they pose. We have to recognise that. “We have to stand up, impose ourselves and also play football. That’s important.” Steve Morison (Cardiff City Manager): “The biggest change is belief, confidence, being brave. "We needed to try and change something and shift the mindset. Hopefully the last 40 minutes on Saturday has done that and it would be great to get a positive result this evening.”...and as always... COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Gillingham have sent Charlie Kelman back to us after only 5 appearances, not a good sign as he isn't injured at all. Apparently they can still recall him any time up to January, I the mean time he will play in our B team unless things get desperate in the first team.
So Cardiff after 8 straight defeats sacked McCarthy, today they were 3 down away to Stoke and came back to get a 3-3 draw. This will be their first home game since sacking McCarthy, sometimes you do wonder about our luck and how timing can be everything in life ! Just hope we don't fold under the atmosphere that there is bound to be there
Was it really a lapse of concentration Dave? Shot to nothing from them. Dunne does what a defender is supposed to do and gets an unlucky deflection. Very fair of you to post the 6:1 AND the Div 2 playoff loss!
Good shout...went on to play for Merthyr Tydfil and Port Talbot...oh the glamorous life of a footballer.
Why have the club not said anything regarding Dykes' foot ? Not good that, first we'll hear about it will be when he's not in the squad for Wednesdays game !
Well the boot could be just a precaution. In any case why would we want to give Cardiff our team news? Let them go on thinking Messi's half time substitutions are so as to not screw up his move to us before Wednesday.
that comeback at Stoke will give them confidence for our encounter. That losing run can't go on for ever and any team you'd like to end it, is a visit from us
Is that the sound of Charity Park Rangers coming over the horizon......or Severn Bridge in this case? Nah It think we'll be good enough to take a least a point from them........
