I read somewhere that Finch destroys off spin, so maybe they were keeping Ali fielding till Finch got out. And by then it was nearly over.
Yep that is true but Mills got destroyed anyway lol. It was just that Rashid and Livingstone bowled so well I found it strange that Ali didn't bowl at all
Just watched the highlights. Massive statement of intent from England. Hopefully not peaking too soon, but great to see Buttler return to form. Aussies totally smashed.
Get in, New Zealand win by 8 wickets ! Lovely. India in real danger of not qualifying for Semi's now. England and Pakistan have looked a cut above so far, if Buttler produces an innings like yesterday's in the final should we get there then I can't see us losing. Alot of ifs I know but with Roy, Bairstow and Livingstone all capable of serious battery too it's looking mighty good.
Just seen this. Was a favourite of mine and a fine batsman. A character too along with Botham and Gower, hoping he makes a full recovery. All the best to a real fighter
As good a side as India are, I actually fear New Zealand and Pakistan more in this format. Plus, in such a short game, almost anyone can beat anyone, although I agree that England are looking very strong. Shri Lanka will be a tester later.
Sri Lanka are a shadow of the team they were pal, can't see us not walloping them really. Agree about Pakistan and New Zealand, seriously dangerous sides. New Zealand have become an excellent side in all formats, don't forget they are World test champions and we all know what happened in the 50 over World Cup final. Memorable
Bugger, Sri Lanka have won the toss and are bowling first. Imperative we get off to a good start, come on Buttler and Roy !
Low skiddy wicket apparently and hard to score on. Not a high scoring wicket so in Sri Lanka's favour you'd think
Ffs 12 off first over, but Roy clean bowled in 2nd ! 13-1. Ball keeping low , must keep eye on the ball and not lose concentration
29--1 off 4 overs. They have good spinners that are sliwing the rate. Surprised Malan came in during the power play even though he's number 3. Thought we might have pushed Bairstow up
