Caught the last 20 minutes which looked fantastic with a great atmosphere. Getting the best out of johanson playing in a more progressive position. Absolute sickener of an equalizer. Gutted
Hugely disappointed not to hang on for all three points, but we are QPR and we never do things the easy way. Crowd was brilliant. Some good performances from Johansen, Dozzell, Chair. MOTM for me was Adomah, tireless running and positivity throughout.
We may well be 5th now, but looking at the table we will plummet to maybe 8th or 9th after the games in hand for the others. I also have the hump. I can't believe how many games in a row we have scored in. Its amazing but we HAVE to sort out conceding ffs..
We didn't deserve that , We were the better team second half and looked for the second goal. We warranted all three points. They offered nothing until the hail Mary. Dieng had it covered ... Grim! There was a feeling of complete disbelief as that went in. Their droopy eyed manager saw it different of course. Quasimodo garnered the sky commentators of course, seriously thinking of ditching sky.
Adomah has been fantastic last few games since starting, but Warburton is killing him playing him in the wing back role. He'll be the next one to be injured and ruled out for months, for gods sake play him as an out and out winger and change the formation. He'll terrorise teams in this division and ease the onslaught on our defence. It's these things that piss me off with Warburton and make me question his tactical knowhow. Mccallum looks like a sicknote unfortunately and with Wallaces questionable hamstrings we really need to go in for 2 wingbacks who are decent and not likely to break down every other week. It's these positions aswell as the holding midfielder one that have killed us over the last month and a half
The wing back position is problematic. McCallum is very unfortunate, obviously an excellent player with wesk hamstrings. Wallace came good, but also with hamstring problems Moses ...playing okay, but with a history of injury. Kakay probably not good enough. Adomeh playing well at moment...but he is 101 as Wallace is. Although yesterday forest goal came from a hail Mary shot from the centre. It's the wings that are going to hold us up this season. McCallum needs to go back to Norwich and recover... for his own sake not ours. Gray needs to go back, let's bring Bonne back and play him off the bench every match. And invest the manner in wing backs
I thought Kakay was great against Sunderland. I'd worry taking Bonne away from somewhere where he is on fire to just play him from the bench might be short termism. A word for Dykes while I'm here who I thought was excellent last night and against Sunderland. He's really starting to perform consistently. We need him to pick up an "injury" before the next international break.
Everybody likes an 'I told you so', so I'm going to take this opportunity to point out that I was a big supporter of Dykes when most on here were writing him off, saying that I thought he had the makings of a very good CF. He is rapidly turning into just that. I also got stick from some for suggesting that Austin's legs had gone, which is now obvious to pretty much everybody, but I take no pleasure in being right about that. Dykes is very much our number one striker now, but he needs others around him to be at his most effective. Two up top hasn't worked for us in recent games, but I wonder if that's just down to our other striking options. Not sure what the arrangement is with Gray, but he's been very poor, so I'd sent him back if possible and get Nahki Wells back in.
With all that ability to see into the future Strolls, how come you’re not top of the prediction league I think the step up for Dykes was always going to take some time. He is definitely progressing from last season. Be good to see his longer distance ability improve as he does get those opportunities; also an extra yard on his speed would definitely help him. But it’s looking good. Gray?! Just don’t get what he offers us. Anything would be better than him right now. I also agree with Beth on the number of injury-prone players we have around our wing-back positions. That’s a risk too far in my book and we are paying the price for it twice over as we put players out of position to cover the players out injured. It was good to see Dozell have a good game last night. He seemed fired up for some reason. Good to see there’s some fire, and skill, in the belly. Again he’s going to need time to adjust - so fingers crossed the lad does just that for us.
Yes, Dozzell was very good last night, and Johansen looked much fitter and sharper after his lay-off. Willock could do with a similar break, I think.
There is a lot of criticism on here around Warburtons decision making, espescially substitutions, but it has to be remembered that he is trying to nurse this pretty thin squad through a pretty horrendous fixture list. It should be remembered that he and his know the conditioning levels of the players far more than we can see. So when he takes Chair off rather than Willock it is probably with no relevance to how they are playing but more safeguarding their long term fitness. He usually gets things more right than wrong so I think we should back him rather than be critical which is all too easy from the comfort of your sofa. I wonder how much we have left in the kitty for signings in the window.
We have a Manager, an Assistant Manager, a First Team Coach, an Assistant First Team Coach and a Goalkeeping Coach. We have more heads of staff in the offices than we do on the training ground.
Dykes all round play has improved & movement is now good rather than being static as he was at beginning of last season, agree with Dozzell being fired up & looked ok, glad Johansen played further forward & that suited him, his best game for a while
I was really pleased to see someone play last night who gave Johansen the confidence and security to play at his best going forward dictating play in the 2nd half for the 1st time this season. Take a bow Mr Dozzell, had seen good passing from him before but not the solid defensive work and awareness he showed last night. Now when Field is back, in Dozzell he looks to have competition and back up at least. Leaves Amos to fill in further forward pressing where he's best, and where Willock seems to need a rest. And Ball to fill in almost anywhere but not DCM please. Albert my MOM again, a great game. Dieng, Moses, Dickie, Barbet, and Dykes all did well again as well. Just hope we haven't got more bad. injuries, with McCallum and Jordi going off with what looked like muscle injuries and Dykes looking to have a problem with his foot or ankle at the end.
Always was a supporter of Dykes too - and on "I told you so"s, I seem to remember worrying about signing Gray, which has unfortunately turned out to be true. Surely we must have someone in the U23s that can get some gametime instead of Gray, can't be any worse.
At the risk of being a contrary old git... 1. I actually thought Dykes was pretty poor last night. He was totally dominated by the Forest defenders in the first half until they somehow lost him completely for the goal. He had much more time and space in the second half of course but contrived to miss several golden opportunities to seal the game for which we paid dearly. 2. Conversely, while there is plenty of criticism of Dunne on here I thought he did really well and we looked much assured at the back once he replaced de Wijs. His instinctive reaction that gave away the goal was a bummer for both him and the team but shouldn't detract from his overall performance.
