I'd take a major cup win over promotion. Every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

I'd say Arsenal and Leicester are just as suspect this season. All capable of a **** performance and losing games they're expected to win.

Arsenal at home would be my choice.

The offside line is his shoulder. His elbow doesn't count.

I'm with Smug on this. Promotion can happen any time, a 'proper' cup win could be a once in a lifetime moment for a lot of us. I'm mid 40s and never seen us play in Europe, that would trump away trips to Stoke and Cardiff.

It's immaterial anyway - there's no chance if it happening.

I totally understand that mate and I've flipped between the two options.

.My eventual opinion is that I'm 66 and promotion to the PL could take 2 or 3 seasons, maybe more.

Moving into the top half could be 2 or 3 more ...

... sorry to you young uns but I'll take a Wembley win and major trophy now if you don't mind.

  13. :emoticon-0102-bigsm You'll be right at home in Parliament with short term thinking like that! :emoticon-0105-wink:
So if it takes 6 years to cement a place in the PL,you'll still only be 72,....spring chicken man! And lots of great days and nights and promotion parties along the way!
These one off cup wins are great, but they're just that...one-offs,and soon forgotten. Building and then watching a regular top PL team week in and week out....that's where it's at!
No,it's promotion every time for me and **** the cups if they're going to get in the way. And I'm older than you!<laugh>

Couldnt agree more, promotion is way above everything else. Win a cup this season who is to say we would go up next season or the year after. No get out of this **** awful league now. I cant imagine KLD has come here to be in this league indefinitely, And how many of our up and coming young players would want to stay here in this league.

You do realise you can’t have a winning goal if you win two nil.

Promotion for me. Those of us if a certain age will always have 1973. Still gives me a warm feeling.
A cup win would be soon forgotten when we play Port Vale on a wet Tuesday in November.
Promotion this year and a cup win next year please.

The first goal won the game, the second was therefore irrelevant ....

... although it would become the winner if the opposition scored one.
