Newcastle entertain Wigan at St James' Park on Saturday aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The high-flying Magpies currently sit in fourth in the Premier League, with 16 points from their opening four games.

Alan Pardew's side showed their fighting spirit by twice coming from behind in a thrilling draw with Spurs last time out.

In contrast, Roberto Martinez's Wigan have endured a difficult start to their campaign, picking up just five points to sit second-from-bottom of the table.

The Latics will be desperate to halt a run of five successive losses, the latest a 3-1 home reverse to Bolton.
    Team news

Newcastle boss Pardew has virtually a full squad to choose from ahead of the clash with the Latics.

Skipper Fabricio Coloccini has had a minor toe problem, but is expected to be fit, while Haris Vuckic (broken hand) and Alan Smith (hamstring) are available again.

Only central defender Mike Williamson, who has recovered from surgery on an arm fracture but is now battling an ankle injury, remains on the sidelines.

For Wigan, striker Hugo Rodallega is set for a return to the starting line-up after making his comeback from a knee injury as a substitute a week ago.

There could be changes elsewhere as Steve Gohouri had 45 minutes to forget out of position at left-back in the defeat to the Trotters.

That could signal a return for Maynor Figueroa, who was dropped to the bench at the weekend.

    Possible starting XIs:

Newcastle: Krul, Coloccini, R Taylor, S Taylor, Simpson, Gutierrez, Tiote, Cabaye, Obertan, Ba, Best.

Wigan: Al Habsi, Boyce, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Diame, Jones, Watson, McCarthy, Moses, Rodallega.

    Form

    Newcastle: WDDWWD
    Wigan: WLLLLL

I'm going to predict a comfortable 3-0 home win.
Anything less than a win would be dissapointing.

I think we might have a goal feast. When I have watched Wigan on TV they have been very poor.

My head says defeat 0-1 but my heart says 3-0 to us,I think we have to be on the ball in this game more than any other so far this season.

I was feeling worried that we were going to get complacent and slip up, but Pardew seems to be well aware that complacently could be an issue, so now I am expecting us to hammer them.

Yep. I wouldn't even bother playing a keeper for this game.

Telling thee, 1-1 written all over it. We remain undefeated, but we lose two points. Wigan have lost a few recently and with all the expectancy on our shoulders we'll mess up.

Either that or a sneaky 1-0 win, and i can see Obertan grabbing it.
