Interesting situation. Negotiations with potential candidates must go on for the next fortnight, but what if Morison gets some decent results in these 3 games, say a couple of wins coming off the back of the 8 defeats under Mick? Having got a tune of this ramshackle squad, would it be right (fair?) to chuck it all up in the air again with someone else and unknown results? Maybe a potential new manager should be put on the back burner for now and see how it goes up until Christmas time?
Yep, as always timing is critical and always difficult to get right. Would be great to give Morison a fair crack of the whip but equally, a new face will also need to have a good look before the January window, albeit from a point of view as to who's to be released. One thing is for certain is that the club needs the joined up approach that Morison talks about.
Its what we've been saying on here for some time. Just need Sparky to grab a couple costa coffes and to take Tan to one side while he's overseeing the first team fitness regime at Merthyr Mawr and put him on the straight and narrow.
Rangers and Chelsea coaches, Beale and Barry moving up the odds list. Meantime Morison has a huge midfield problem for Stoke. Only Vaulks is available.
Masky is thinking about applying for the managers position, with Todge as his underling.....thoughts?
Wonder if we have a recall clause in Wintle's loan deal? I know he struggled to fit in initially but now he's had some game time at this level and has been earning decent reviews he could yet prove to be an asset in our fight to climb the table if we can get him back. Sounds like letting Murphy go was still a good move though. Now injured and previously being told by his coach up there that he needs to do more! If ever a player needed to buck up.... It's like Zahore all over again.
I think we have a recall clause on him but it can only be implemented during the January window - before and after that, he's Blackpool's player for the season.
Collins likely to be out at Stoke. Broken thumb. Did he do that removing it from his fundamental orifice?
Why go from Steve Morison to Jody Morris? Similar ages and perhaps Morris has spent more time as a coach, but SM is here and has surely got a grip on things at the club. Unless it goes disastrously wrong this next 3 games leave that option well alone - in fact leave that option well alone even if it does. Got a feeling SM will get a tune out of this lot and he may be afforded more time.
Very much depends on how much the senior players, who have the ability to do so, buy into his philosophy and tactics and support him. Will be an interesting game 1 selection.
A lot of theses "senior players" are out of contract end of the season. They may think they need to do something positive to get a new one. If they don't take on board what he tries to do and torpedo his efforts through not buying in to them, then goodbye.
Obvs the present administration have no idea he left us at the church back in the day. Mind you they appointed Harris when he walked out of City after one loan game to go to Forest
The thing is, the senior players won't be getting new deals anyhow (reportedly), which does start to call into question their efforts and enthusiasm for the fight. You'd like to think that they'd give their all as it puts them in a better position to find a new club if they're not kept on but let's be honest, how many people DO stay fully engaged in their jobs if they know they have no future in their roles and will be (effectively) laid off with no pay out? Could be a very tough gig for anyone if true. Who is out of contract at the end of year all together, anyone know offhand?
Here they are Brizz.............. https://www.transfermarkt.com/cardiff-city/vertragsende/verein/603 EDIT - I think you can add Josh Murphy and Ciaron Brown to that list - funny they don't appear in the transfermarkt site.
