I've just checked his figures. Our Under 23's have won 12 games out of the last 63 and finished bottom of the league in 2 out of the last 3 seasons. I thought they were bringing in the worlds best
Is the 90s clubcall bit not suggesting it's a wind up? His brother is head of the Academy here isn't he? Could it be him?
Wonder how much of their strategy is to screw over their nearest opposition, even though not in same league, as well as compete at highest level. They won't want use getting back to PL even if not a threat for trophies.
Hopefully I’ll bump into him in the next day or so and I’ll ask him the crack. been his next door neighbour for the last 10 years.
I hope not personally. His job is to produce talent for the first team and we can see the success he is having with the lads coming through now. He has done well for a while but previous regimes just sold off talent he helped produce. Will be a bit of a blow to us in my opinion.
Was trying to get some ITK crack during the takeover saga. Stonewalled me every time. Bloke is a seasoned pro we had some decent chats about the younguns when we were both furloughed during last summer. He reckoned the young striker that went to Man Utd was probably one of the best prospects he’d seen come through our setup. If he’d stated he’d be getting regular games in our first team now FFS. it must have annoyed him greatly seeing all our young talent being touted around.
I'd still like to know how much these lads moving was on the club (last owners) or the big clubs coming and the lads wanting to go. I assume a bit of both but the big clubs came knocking as we were inviting them!
I reckon they plan to control the young talent in the north east and see this appointment as getting someone in who knows the area well and has been doing the job. Also added bonus could chuck the first spanner in for us, of the many they are planning. I think we will be fine as we will be more competently run as opposed to chuck money at it.
This was my initial thought. The young talent coming through the club was one of the few aspects of it that appears to have been working as it should prior to KLD's arrival.
A good chance to get someone with a better track record in. Our track record with getting youngsters first team ready is ****ing poor. Good luck to him and Newcastle.
They may think that but its the ideal opportunity to get real quality in here without having to let anyone go, perfect. Also, agent Dickman can then go about his work on the inside to turn them into a well-funded feeder club.
His brother, Lewis Dickman, was head of coaching before his appointment as Academy manager. Stuart English has that gig, now. Elliott Dickman was basically the transport manager for getting the u23's to and from games
