I’d be interested to see how A Armstrong plays when partnered with Broja. Will have to wait his turn though as Redmond is undroppable at this moment in time. Adams unfortunately should be 4th choice striker now.
Can the mods find out who has hacked this match thread? Someone has flooded it with ‘positive vibes, man’. Can’t be the genuine Saints site. May as well join the party. That performance produced almost as much delight as when some small team topped the league earlier in the year. Great stuff!
Hope this turns out like the JackStephens is officially 4th choice CB situation. The Jack Stephens who was first choice earlier in the season.
When you consider his options then aren't getting regular games at Lincoln and Swansea, well, it tells you something...
I get your point, but they have both had injury hit seasons so far (from what I can tell) Not that either are the quality we need, mind! Just easy to look at appearance stats.
Message to the negheads who had us losing games and relegated before a ball was kicked (insert your choice of expletives here). A few humble pie posts on the lines of "I'm so happy to have been proved wrong and am looking forward to the rest of the season with renewed optimism" are in order.
I would be more than happy if Adams was to come out of this in good form as Stephens did. I feel like Broja and Redmond have earned their places now - I feel Armstrong still needs the chance to adjust to the PL so he is next priority for me.
Based on this, both Forster and Lyanco have just forced themselves into the pl team. Will that happen? Probably not.
Hoping our improved form under Ralph doesn't attract attention from HR United. Someone tell the manager it's grim up Norf.
Haven’t seen a performance as captivating from a centre-half as Lyanco’s in a while. Big tackles, blocks, reading of the game, lovely passes and surging runs into midfield. Who knows if it’ll translate in the 4222, or the premier league context, but it was brilliant to watch.
You do know that, that was just a good performance in a cup draw against Chelsea right? We are still 16th in the league with 1 win from 9 games - we are by no means having a good season... yet anyway.
Our massively improved form of one win in the league all season? I’m sure Newcastle are on high alert
Don't be too hasty. Let's hold fire until the Watford game. If we play well and draw again then the parade is on!
Interesting that Katharina was there for her first live game in 2 years. Not sure if it means anything, but I kinda hope it does.
I do of course but see enough from the performances thus far to be optimistic about this season. Go and piss on someone else's party
I suggested the other day that we might have to revert to a back three, in order to accommodate an attack which sees AA join Broja and Redmond. So Lyanco being suited to a back three would be interesting on that front. Could even consider KWP as the right sided one of three, I guess in the role that Valery played yesterday (or the mirror image of Bertrand on occassions).
I glad you agree Newcastle may have an interest in Ralph given the improvement in form and the squad. With the resources available at HRU I'm sure he'd have the St James faithful singing his name.
