Yeah just watched again and again
The qpr man came back from an offside position from the cross to continue to engage in the initial action

I don't agree the ball was played directly to him, he's running away from the play and not even looking at the ball. The goalkeeper was back peddling towards his line so had no intention of coming out to claim it. The ball was played into the centre of the box other QPR players were there so no chance any of our players were leaving that.

All about opinions. There were no QPR players anywhere near where the ball was going except him though. I don’t think that pass is played if he’s not there. Just my opinion though.

besides, if we’d failed to beat a league 2 club because of this, I’d be more disappointed with our players than the decision.

Considering he wanted Johnson sacked on Saturday. I’ll keep telling him to **** off or “ignoring” his posts. He’s the worst type of fan

    Yeah exactly!

They played more first team players than us and were the home team. We were comfortably the better footballing side.

'Finally, I think it would be very wise that Mr Stroud and his officials are not allocated any game at QPR FC for the foreseeable future, as I think it would be difficult for the Club to guarantee their safety were this to happen.'

    That'll go down well <doh>

Yeah I saw that. He seems likeable in a daft sort of way though lol.

Been reading the QPR board. Understandably they are upset due to the offside debate. And a few wanted this more than a league game, (I'm more concerned with league games), but some are also claiming hand ball, which it's clearly ball to hand.
But never mind. Like some have said, we've had some shocking decisions in league 1 with very poor referees.
So I'll take that thank you very much. That's football.

What's got me really buzzing is the fact we not only played away, but played a competitive championship side and matched them.

I'm sitting up and taking more notice of the cups now but still more concerned with the league.

I would imagine Speakman and Johnson will both be over the moon that the system they've adopted and the personnel they have brought to the club performed very well last night. It certainly bodes well for when we finally get out of League One.

It was fantastic to win, but the way we played and more than matched them pleased me more.

I'd like a home game, the fans have done enough traveling in this competition, another trip to London isn't ideal.

One of the big boys at home on Sky under the lights would be nice.

Yeah. I would have thought LJ would have wanted a top team at home. No travelling,an awesome atmosphere and more revenue through the turnstiles.

i thought it was onside as it came off our player last but seem to remember a pundit (yeh, i know) saying in a similar instance that as the defender did not actually make an attempt to play the ball then it does not count.

i liked it when offside was offside and when hand ball was when someone used their hand/arm to gain control of a ball...there are too many grey areas now that can be stretched or twisted to make sure a goal for one of the big six counts but against them is not allowed, we have even seen a ball blasted at a player from close range and hand ball was given, go back to how it was as it was easier for everyone.

...and while i am having a moan stop this mental practice of not raising a flag for offside until the ball is dead, only a matter of time before some last ditch tackle goes in and really injures a player.

I'd be fuming if that offside was given against us. Saying that, it wasnt, so I don't give a ****.

Nice to see us be able to mix it with a Playoff chasing Championship team. Apparently we're the first team all season to stop them scoring a goal (ignoring the officials mistake of course).

Tbf, we suffered an abysmal set of officials on Saturday. They say these things even themselves out so a quick bit of retribution at work.

Corrr there's a lot of misunderstanding of the offside rule in this thread haha. He's not offside due to the quoted rule as it states "nearer the opponents' goal than BOTH the ball AND the second-last opponent". He's not closer than the second-last opponent (Burge) in this case, so not offside.

A few people have referred to the earlier ball into the box, which our defender headed away straight to their player who was coming back from offside position. I think this is what the lino gave it for, but he actually got it wrong, by the letter of the law. The final para of the attached pic makes it clear that any deliberate action by a defender (in this case, the headed clearance) will play the attacker onside. It's a ****e rule, but it is what it is. See M'bappe's winner against Spain the Nation's League for a good example of it.

Having said all that, who gives a ****, we were due to get away with one <laugh><cheers>
