Not sure why you give a pen to a low in confidence Walcott and not to playing out his skin Tino, I find that very strange
Becoming a theme at the moment. Wolves and Burnley allowed to get away with it for fun. McCarthy barely does it once against Leeds, straight into the book. And then tonight.
I completely understanding giving it to Theo. Senior player. But picking Will ahead of Tino surprised me. Then again, I don't see them in training.
Really encouraging performance - Ralph really has selection decisions to make all over the pitch, especially with Lyanco.
So much agree with this.....must admit that I'm a Shane Long supporter ( acknowledge that he doesn't score as much as he should but he's not alone there) but he doesn't deserve the flak he gets here. Compare his contribution with Walcott. What is encouraging is that there is developing some good cover for most positions throughout the team.
Im now not going, so I fancy our chances far more. My record at saints games is 1 win in roughly 100 games
That last point you make is a reality which some of us find difficult to deal with. Really hoped he would make more of his time here. Still hope he can though!
I know, but taking a pen is about feeling confident and good about yourself. (Our Rickie being an example, could not miss for saints , feels uncomfortable at the scousers) Don't agree with the senior pro argument when they are not in top of their game
Just read this on the BBC Live text: Matt: Proud of the way Saints fought back tonight. But strange choice of penalty takers, why Walcott and Smallbone got the nod over Adam Armstrong makes no sense! Er.....I assume he missed the first round of pens!
I was going to say he's probably a Facebook contributor (there's still Ralph Out comments after tonight!), but then he said he was proud, so can't be...
