No of course not, but we are slowly on the slide....are we not? How many more draws and losses would it take before the unthinkable became a reality. Playing Devil`s Advocate really, but could it happen?
Come on Dom, have you stopped taking your happy pills? We're not great but we're not bad either. We're just about where most people thought we would be after the turmoil of the Summer. A win on Saturday will see us all a lot happier again. Mind you a defeat.................
Everything's possible but we won't be in the relegation zone. Okay we're now in the bottom half of the table but only three points off a play off place! If we make the play-offs come May it will be a bonus because unless we get some extra QUALITY players on board I think this will be a year of stability. However next season we should be expecting a lot more and I do hope the board back the team financially to get us to the Premier League.
Yes, I can't it happening TBH, but lets not fall into the trap of thinking we are too good to go down
Let's not get carried away, the Posh result was a freak, we had more possession, more shots on goal both on and off target, more corners, winning 3-2 and the ref gives a harsh penalty and to cap it we then concede another while the team are still recovering, so as far as I'm concerned the answer is 'No'
Ant team that loses Bootroyd Burke and Bellamy are bound to struugle how much will be shown a week Saturday at LEEDS lose that and you know you are sliding as you have always been a thorn in our side I remember in the 50's losing the third round of the cup 3 times in succession 2-1 unbelievable and we had Charles you had Gerry Hitchens
When I first read this I thought what is that all about....it`s still very early and the side is way off that situation. I suppose a few more freak results against us could start a slide that could be difficult to stop. However too many poor sides in the relegation area to concern ourselves I think. Better to be optimistic about this, but we are aware.............
Relegation was a possibility after the mess Jones left us in. The owners could have sold off Whittingham and left Jones in charge. That would have put us in serious trouble. We have a new manager who doesnt have the same financial backing. Hes had to rebuild. Anyone expecting a promotion challenge after losing Bothroyd , Bellamy , Chopra , Burke and Matthews was being unrealistic. If we still had those players with this manager wed be top. Of course relegation is a possibility - but im confident we will be around mid table and in a much better position after the shambles we were after the Reading game. The club are rebuilding on and off the pitch after years of mismanagement. Im sure our owners know relegation would be a disaster and if we slip near that then backing will be made. I dont see another gamble on the play off lottery though.
As others have said, relegation is a possibility for you but so is promotion. That's the why the Championship is much more exciting than the Prem. You're more off the pace this time than for some years though. If I was to bet on it I'd say no to relegation and a playoff spot is likely yet again. The Championship looks tougher than ever to me.
We've had more than a few injuries, plus we lost a lead twice at Peterborough and have only had one convincing win (i.e. where we actually looked any good) against Saints so far this season. (You can discount Bristol City because they were appalling on the day). However, I don't think we are relegation fodder - unless Gestede and Miller are out for long periods and we don't bring in any new players who can run fast! If the injuries persist, and without team strengthening, we are bad enough to go down. Hard working teams with little real talent do get relegated.
Jesus, mother and mary..... it is coming to something when you need to rely on a Jack barsteward, with a username that provokes debate in the sensitive, to say....... you will stay up at the very least! Be honest, after the start we had this time last year who of you would have put money on Swansea going up? At least this year you have a team fitness, ethic and spirit, rather than ..... well, I shall leave those choice of words up to you. It seems you are on a strong financial base. Perhaps you have forgotten how bad times can be. It's scary when a Jack needs to tell you to keep the faith. Lets face it, a Welsh derby in the 'ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE' would be awesome.... (as long as we win!)
You could go down and historically the chances of it happening are pretty good. Cardiff have spent a large chunk of their lives in the lower leagues and it could be argued they have punched well above their weight in recent years due to a cash injection in an attempt to reach the 'promised land'. Sad thing is, the money appears to have dried up a bit. I hope it does not come back to bite you on the bum but you cannot rule out the possibility, although I think you will be ok this season and probably end up mid table or slightly better.
YES without any stern investment in the team. screw whats going on in Malaysia and its many many new leagues etc. Lets concentrate on things here first.
am I the only one getting a bit suspicious of these guys? Suddenly, there's a massive soccer development in malaysia while sod all is happening here yet our coaching staff are being farmed out there. Are they just using the CCFC brand?
