Nah was last season and season before so doesn’t matter But 2020 calendar year we were awesome so he shouldn’t be sacked
Just not having a good morning …. Apologies, folks ….. I’ll take myself off and give myself a firm talking to ….. yes, it’s only a game, I agree. Still - on a brighter note, 2 of my friends are Man Utd fans ….
They were freak results but happened twice in less than 18 months. Definitely not the fault of the manager who made no tactical changes after the early red cards. He was just victim to bad luck and a freak results.
True. I doubt any other manager as ever had poor decisions go against him in a match. Rumour has it he's the only manager to ever have an injury crisis to deal with too. Geezer must be the unluckiest in history.
Just posted this on Saints Web, it's sure to go down well.. "Ralph has still got some credit in the bank with me (at least until Xmas). His win % is still better than Bally and WGS's and not much below Poch's. This season is finally the one where he can say it is his team and we are still less than a quarter way through. The performances have been pretty good and we look more defensively solid on the whole and now we appear to have found a regular finisher. His teams do like to entertain unlike Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes' and he takes the cup competitions seriously and so far he's had two mid-table finishes and a good cup run and have topped the table and got some good results against the elite clubs. If we are still around the bottom 4 and still not getting wins after playing each team once then his position needs to be reviewed but not now IMO."
Theo must have something about his game, and the way he fits into Ralph`s system to warrant being a starter. I watched the game intently on Saturday trying to figure out what it is. Finishing - no, pace - no (not any more), passing - not really, crossing - no, tackling - no, work rate - yes (but I`d expect that from any player), ball retention - not really, threat - no, defensive awareness - maybe (but several players could do exactly that, while offering more offensively). So help me out - what is it ?
The odds https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager I suppose Steve Bruce may feature in the top 10 below. No one listed strikes me as an improvement on Ralph. Pardew 3rd favourite who'd have thought? I get the impression any manager will get similar treatment from people at the games and posting on here. How many games grace before the Xxxx out **** starts? Not many, for some it'll be before they take a training session. Eddie Howe Frank Lampard Alan Pardew Steve Cooper Mark Hughes S Allardyce Javi Gracia Chris Hughton Marcelino Tony Pulis
I asked this on Saturday. I'm very wary of scapegoating the bloke especially as I was so vocal about not signing him permanently but I just don't get what he offers other than an expensive body.
Definitely a romantic gamble that appears to have backfired, I just hope that Ralph has the guts to not start him regularly. He has no longer got the lightning pace to go beyond players and has never been blessed with a good football brain.
Just such a poor decision. I'd have understood it more if we hadn't just had him on loan but to make him one of our top earners after that loan period...
From my experience, I can't agree with this Dave. The fans have been pretty vocal and supportive of the team and even after Redmond's awful miss I didn't hear much abuse directed at him. (Probably because most of us were in a state of shock). You may be unlucky by who you are surrounded with as it only takes one gobby know-it-all to ruin your afternoon, but I can honestly say there was no abuse to be heard in our section. There were a few boos at the final whistle coming from the Northam but not for long, and most stayed behind to applaud the players.
I might be going you will all be delighted to hear. My record at saints games is impeccable 1 win in about 100 games
