Nah cheap Italian (not for the first time) Veneto Merlot from; "From the great tradition of Italian wines, the wines that give love for the land memories of the past, together with the continuing search of the wine-making techniques and managed to improve the characteristics of each wine" * according to the label. "Delightful fed colour with vivous and fruity aromas, dry warm and balancedtaste, suitable with hame, roasted red meats and spicy cheese. Best serves at 18C" **** all that - I just drink it. Can I open a fourth????
Back on topic, Arteta is a tidy player but I'm still undecided on him at the moment. He doesn't offer much going forward but its still better than Song bombing forward and leaving us exposed like the last few seasons.
I thought Micky had a good solid game. Hs tracking back was excellent and fulfilled a great need we have been having for quite sometime. I thought he had a good game, probably on par with Song and just shaded by Kos. My 2c
The problem is Arteta looks every inch an Everton style player. (he should adapt to our style of play in time and hopefully improve.) He needs to show more invention as a playmaker, although he does'nt give the ball away much he has'nt really shown any inventiveness with his passing. He works hard and gets stuck in but i'll be glad when Wilshere is back because our midfield is badly lacking creativity.
Nobody is playing the lofted through ball anymore now Cesc is gone. Its hard to unlock stubborn defences without someone with the ability to play the killer pass. Ramsey sometimes trys it but he has been horse S*it recently.
I think Arteta is a very good player and has been quality for us so far. We badly needed some solidity after Fabs and Nasri's departure. In yesterdays game, he was solid, never gave the ball away, never played a silly pass and got stuck in. Also give the guy a break. He's just come out of your basic kick and rush premiership team like Everton and is now playing on a much higher level of skill and competition. He just needs time to adjust. You also have to remember we are playing low in confidence, and when we start picking it up, we will play a lot better as a team unit. This will also allow Arteta to express himself more. At the moment, the priority it seems is to grind out the results, which is totally understandable.
Arteta was very solid, does not give it away cheap, tackles, works hard and can score goals as he has and excellent right foot. Stupid to be running him down after a very decent display, a point away for me would have been fine but to win it and play solidly if not spectacularly was more than acceptable.
PAH. when in advanced positions Arteta looks clueless. He dwells on the ball longer than Diaby - and that is saying something. He always plays the ball along the floor, it is always the safe pass, the obvious pass, there is nothing creative about him. If we bought him for creativity we bought a dud.
You can't please everyone and I am sure we all have different expectations of him, you can't fault his commitment and he reportedly took a pay cut to join us. I think you are being overly harsh, we all know that perhaps he's not on Cescs level or Even Nasri, he's a different player and is doing a different job to them. I am not overly happy with many things this season but I am satisfied with the job Arteta has done thus far and what he has given.
arteta isn't like fab because they play in different positions. arteta is like wilshere was last season, a deep-lying mid alongside Song. he plays his position well, and if we had someone else to play the killer pass people would say he's doing his job well. rosicky appears to have lost his vision and they are too similar, both wanting to retain possession at all costs and very rarely playing a killer through ball. as ppl said, ramsey does this more, but needs some work. we should have bough a real AM, like hamsik, sneijder, etc. or move vp slightly back and go 4411, as we lack someone to play a killer through ball.
