Edwards had 60 mins and did 1 thing. Burns did 4 or 5 significant things in half the time. I fear Edwards is the new Alan judge. He’s been missing since his first 2 games. Is it me or is Celina just looking basically a bit light weight? He neither seems quicker, more skilful or more clever than any of the opposition he’s faced yet. Great to see him score though I can’t let a winning goal override these broader observations. Even though he made my prediction a profitable day! Overall our forwards seem not as clever as I’d hope 3 guys with that much pace and trickery. All a bit unimaginative and not joined up. And def didn’t set Bonne up enough throughout the game. Chaplin did well though and seemed as annoyed with his fellow forwards as me! Morsy was an absolute monster in midfield. We’d basically be totally ****ed if we’d not signed him.
What a PR roar, great to hear once again! And we get BigAl's 2-1 victory to boot! Up to 10th we go. Happy days. Delighted for Celina, I worked in Kosovo for 2 years and always rated him.
Saw the equaliser, came to get my phone to have a moan about what happens in the last 10 minutes. Pleasantly surprised to read about a winner.
Thankfully we managed to get that last minute winner. Good to see us respond for losing another lead late in the game, and this time managing to get the winner! Hopefully this run of form continues. Players are starting to look a lot more comfortable with each other and Cook is starting to persist with a settled line up. Not to mention the form of Donacien. How many assists has he had this month? Defensively strong as well. The right back spot should be his - which is a massive improvement for him considering he was a likely departure in the summer.
I also thought Celina looked poor today but he did come up with the goods in the end and a celebration that everyone should see. Morsy was very strong today, demanded the ball all the time and rarely gave it away.
Can't imagine the American fella could have asked for anything better than that for a first visit to Portman Road!
I'm sure it'll be two steps forward, one step back - but being in touching distance of the play off zone at Christmas from where we started would be a huge achievement.
That was a good game to win. We were under pressure at times, let in another late goal but responded in injury time to get the three points. A result like that will give the lads just as much confidence as the Portsmouth game. Walton - made some good saves today. Donacien - another solid performance from Janoi. Nsiala - decent again Edmundson - good on the ball and one on one defending Penney - worked his side well, got forward whenever possible Evans - is in tune with Morsy, they always support each other by being close enough to receive a pass and instinctively know where the other is. Morsy - another captains display. Always available and wanting the ball, shields it well and plays forward if possible and safe if not. A tough competitor I'm glad we have him and glad he's captain. Edwards - more trickery and lack of final product. If he could just get the last bit right he'd be a great player. Hopefully he improves. Aluko - good again. Like I said, he does like to check inside and he's not the chalk on the boots kind of winger like Burns but he makes things happen and creates space out wide by dragging his marker with him. A typical striker playing the wing player, wants to get inside and pull the trigger. Bonne - quiet afternoon but always a threat. I can't say I enjoyed the match overall as there were frustrating moments but I am glad I saw the win and Celina's celebration because that kind of thing is what football is all about! Have a wonderful evening everyone
Great summary from someone who saw it, thanks SD. We rode our luck once again, but this time had the balls to keep going. Thank goodness for Morsy, what a storm trooper he is. Celina's will give him the confidence he needs. What a difference a few weeks make to being a Town supporter!
