Yeah I'd imagine Lee Clark will be dragging him back by his ears. Hes meant to be good. All joking aside our academy has produced nothing for decades, except Dummett who's average and injury prone, Carroll who's the same, and the Longstaffs who've had good games but regressed. We need to sort that mess out

 

Cant beat players who make it from the youth teams/academys imo.

Especially if theyre local lads.

Yeah I'd love the Longstaffs to come good. Sean looked a proper baller when he came on the scene. Got injured and been average to **** since. Matty bossed Man Utd now he can't get a game for Aberdeen. interested to see if Jones involves any of the kids tomorrow

 

Young players breaking through has always been a thing that excited me since owen broke through all those years ago, even rooney at Everton i couldnt help but want him to do well, that stopped the 2nd he went to utd tho fabregas at arsenal, anelka too, ashley cole, trent with us recently, its great to see.

 

Yeah it's great, love to see clubs doing it.

Your next manager shouldn't have to worry about that too much, itll probably be the one after that, when perhaps you have better groundwork in place. or it could be that like city the number one priority is cl football and if thats the case and id say young players breaking into the 1st team will be low on the things to tick off for whoever is in charge.

I think foden is man citys only breakthrough "star" and look how long it took for them to let him through, and im sure a few they even let slip away like sancho because of those lack of opportunity's for them there during thier rise.
