Jackson might let the shackles off Charlton and have them fired up from kick off. However if we get that early goal, what little confidence they have could evaporate and a "here we go again" attitude could take over with them sitting back and us playing around them and picking them off
Agree. we have a tendency to allow teams to play. Our games are often very open. I think we should get at them from the start. Stifle any "manager bounce" from the off Got a lot of time for Charlton and their fans. They have been through as much ****e as we have over the last few years. But its time we gave these buggers a good hiding.
Prior to Adkins sacking I had £10 each on 5-0 and 5-1 to you guys (60/1 for both so well worth it). With club legend Johnnie Jackson at the helm I expect us to be a much tighter unit and not so easy to break down but we still have the same mostly awful players so can't see anything other than a 2 or 3 goal winning margin for you. Being a CAFC fan I have to live with eternal optimism that somehow we might scrape a draw, but whatever the result, I hope that you finally get out of this awful division this year. Great respect for your fans for your continued massive support through the bad times and I'll never forget being applauded by groups of your fans as we left Wembley after the play off final (2019, not the other one !). I fully expected that you'd join us the following year (which you did when we went straight back down ) but surely this has to be your final season in L1 for a long while. Good luck for the rest of the season
I like Charlton and their fans but anything less than a comfortable win would be disappointing! Flying back to the UK tomorrow. Hopefully a good win to cheer me on my way. Looking forward to seeing family and friends and of course a couple of trips to the Stadium.
Just got my 3 tickets. Won't sleep too well tonight before driving up the morn. Can't wait. 3-1 Stewart FGS. HTL
Just watched LJ press conference…he seems to have got to grips with us…..hope I’m right, there seems to be an intelligent maturity setting in.
Younger and Harris starting for the U23’s tonight. They were both on the bench at Crewe so we must have a couple back from injury tomorrow
“We might not be there fully but I would hope that within 7-10 days, touchwood we get no further injuries in that period, we'll have close to a fully-fit squad.”
Agreed. Massive game again and a bit more of a banana skin than it seemed before the managerial change. Can’t wait to get in the ground. Unbelievable turn around since the summer.
Safe journey home mate. Atmosphere at the games and general buzz about the place which you will really enjoy when you get back.
I think we will see the usual improved performance when a manager is sacked from Charlton, but I still think we will win by a couple of clear goals.
Couldn't be more pleased for you mate.. I hope you, @ab65 and all the other exiles have safe journeys there and back ... ... I think people from Sunderland would be staggered at how many there are.
