Had some bad news today and thought I'd pop on to Share and celebrate the life of one of my uncles.
Fred was a sand dancer from South Shields and a mag.
Being a mag was the only negative side to him
He was ex merchant navy and worked for an engineering company in Washington. He was involved in making the gates and Davey lamp outside the stadium of light but wouldn't tell me what went in the Davey lamp

He always found it amusing that I supported Sunderland especially since I grew up in the North West, but I think he liked the fact I supported a North East team.

I knew Gary speed quite well and had some banter both ways. Fred commented what a model professional he was and proud he played for Newcastle.

Fred was a decent mag and I'm proud he was my uncle. Same as my dad Derek whom passed earlier this year.
Shìt tastes in teams but good blokes

I haven't been up the North east fir about 3 years mate but I'm up on the 4th November and whenever my uncles funeral is.
I used to get depressed leaving there when I was younger but now I have to make the most of trying to get up when I can and visiting family.
It is a great place football rivalry aside.
