This might be controversial but I would stick Villa at around the same odds as Leeds & Southampton. I know they have spent a lot and have some good players but their results so far so not match this and I can see Smith being gone before January. I don't think he is the right kind of manager for them. He comes across as an old fashioned style English manager and I think he has reached his peak at villa.
It ended well when Jammy realised I was right and changed the subject by mentioning he’s been watching this season through his knock-off Poundland shades
fully agree with that....potential to be very good, not applying it at the moment to justify keep being picked, will he find the application in time or will he get shelved and geldhart given an extended chance...it can go either way
Not sure the fact that I have zero moral standards wins you that or any other argument to be fair. I'm lower than snakes belly when I want to be
Whilst I can’t argue that Bielsa likes Roberts and sees something in him many don’t, I find yours a strange argument that because he cost Fck all he can produce fck all and you are happy with that.
I cant argue with that but in my humble opinion he has had long enough, and I have said on many occasions Gelhardt has more promise in his backside than Roberts is showing right now. When I watched Roberts and Gelhardt play for the 23s Joffy played at 10 whilst Roberts played 9 and I saw Roberts score 3 goals, all created by Joffy and 2 of ghem were penalties Joffy won and Roberts had a boobaby demanding to take them. Gelhardt scores for fun from midfield or at 9, he makes stuff happen every game, he scares defenders to death. Never seen that Promise from Roberts. 90+ games played in a variety of roles but he doesnt have the killer pass, the killer instinct to anticipate the knowledge when to pass. Yes he will know hes under pressure and that doesnt help but a split second decision is all thats needed to be the difference between a top player and an average player
We did it last season with players who were under 15 million, Brentford are doing it this year. It just takes good scouting. Everybody knew we needed someone who could stand in for Phillips, I'm not even sure we're buying the types of players we need.
Had to google the reason for the Brentford change- "Our game away to Leeds United will now take place on Sunday 5 December. This has been moved to give sufficient rest after our London derby at Tottenham. The game will not be live on UK TV and will kick-off at 2pm." How dare they come into our league and demand more rest time! 40 odd hours is plenty time.
Appears to be Amazon's week to mess fans about. We've got an 8.15 on the Tuesday at home to Palace. Could be a late finish and mad dash to the train station for some!
I reckon we need more wingers. The Dan James signing completely flummoxed me. We said we didn't have the funds for a midfielder and that Forshaw was the 'new' midfielder. Then promptly signed James for 25 million. It's nothing against James but did we really need another winger? Especially given the form of Summerville and McKinstrey with Poveda and Costa on the books. I'll be honest. I know it's early doors. Would Costa have had less impact than James given the same game time?
