Pretty sure helicopters would make me airsick.
They are incredibly dangerous too. They crash far more often (proportionally) than any other kind of aircraft.

I always had a liking for Airships.
    Not the Hydrogen ones though.

Sadly the clue is in the name.

By the way, flooding their plains is what rivers are supposed to do.
Those who are throwing themselves at embracing nature should perhaps remember that.

Without the annual flooding of the Nile, 5,000 years of Egyptian Civilisation would never have grown beyond a few huts.

It always makes me laugh when I see the reports of flooded houses on the news.

It always seems to happen in places like Riverside Close or Floodplain Mews. Who'd have thought it ?

So what? It 's not ours any more. We can build a state of the art stadium up on Charlton Park, with a place to moor yatchs and kayaks and so forth. TS is a visionary!

It might persuade Roland to sell up. He'll probably still be alive then out of spite.

In the old days living in harmony with nature meant an 80% infant mortality rate, life expectancy of about 40 and folks sewing themselves into sheep skins for six winter months.

Nature is cruel and unforgiving. Its beauty was only largely admired by people wealthy enough to have some escape from it.
Homes warmed by proper hearths, enough land to grow food and some serfs to farm it.

Nature is not a calendar with pretty pictures of photoshopped sunsets on each page.
If you don't master it, it'll kill you.

Ultimately we can only save the planet by letting it wipe around 98% of us out.
    That would restore the balance.
I think I'll pass though, if it's all the same to Greta.

    Cop Out 26.

We'll get nothing but posturing and a few grand sounding empty promises.
    Groundhog day.
Then morons gluing themselves to motorway junctions for the rest of the winter.

Unfortunately true. There are a lot of people out there who are doing very good innovative things, but the political will to do anything significant will only come when it's too late.

    Yes, that's just official leaking.
Bit rich too, handing out a press "release" and then telling reporters they can't publish it for x number of days.

Journo's should ignore that in my view.
If somebody sends you something newsworthy then publish it straight away :emoticon-0165-muscl

I've never known a Government that trailed its budget with so many leaks and positive spin before.
It's been getting worse in recent years, but this year takes the bisuit.

Stop insulting our intelligence Chancellor, and behave like a Statesman.

We’re in for a winter of discontent- I now have to pay the low emissions charge to see my mum - on top of record fuel prices , lack of HGV drivers , food shortages, gas hikes and rising Covid numbers- joyous times !

Bad luck with the ULEZ @Smudger603
My car (2005 reg) is supposed to be OK according to the TFL website, but I will wait to see if I get billed after next Saturday, when I'm in town again.
