Why do I get the feeling Charlie is another last pay day mercenary, he does not seem interested, he must have had 4 touches Saturday. Secured his move and now nothing.
We would have got more out of Bonne.

He might have got 4 touches, but I don't remember us getting 1 cross to him, which is what he needs and where most of his goals come from. About time he got fitter though.

If you gave Mitrovic that service he'd score **** all ! Supply him with chances and then judge him. Showed against Everton that if you create chances for him he'll still bury the majority of them. I'd be more worried by Gray who looks clueless. Still has some pace but has no concept of the offside rule to utilise it !

I have a workmate who is a hardcore Ipswich fan, and he's dreading us recalling Bonne in January, as he's been scoring for fun for them. He didn't look ready for Championship football when he played last season, but maybe he's picked up some tips and re-discovered his confidence down in L1....can't be any worse than Gray, and a fraction of the cost

Mmm not convinced about Bonne, had a couple of okay games last season but on the whole he looked league 1 standard. Maybe he's scoring for fun because he's back at the lower level he needs. Whenever he returns to us I'll be happy to give him my full support again however, at least until he misses that first sitter lol

Totally wrong to question Austin's commitment, in my opinion. His desire and passion is undimmed, but the sad thing is that time has caught up with him and he's just not mobile enough to contribute as much as he once did. Added to this, he thrives on crosses which we are just not providing for him.

Nah I think he's still got the fire, sometimes we can read too much into body language etc. I feel sorry for him really, our Midfield never have the ball long enough to create and he's getting nothing from Odabajo on the wing. Charlie isn't going to go charging all over the pitch but you put the ball in the right place and you'd trust him to finish over anyone else in the squad.

Don't question Charlies commitment, but maybe his legs, which were never the fastest.

But give him a couple of decent chances and he will score you a goal.

But give him no chances at all ...and guess what ...he won't score a goal.

He was never the player to start against Fulham ...but not sure with Dykes and Gray away on international duty and Warbs didn't have much option

The only striker who suits the way we play is Dykes. The other two just do not play the kind of striker game that matches. I'm sure both Austin and Gray could do well in many other teams in this division.

In any case, Austin is occasionally still banging in important goals here and there, so I'm not sure what there is to worry about.

One thing to worry about for me is why Warburton thinks it's a good idea to use a different striker every bloody game. How are any of them supposed to build confidence. We obviously should be playing with 1 striker, and that should be the striker in best form: Dykes.

It's the rest of the system that need tweaking. Either go 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1. We need to stop conceding so many goals.

Sadly Chas has lost it in the last few weeks. 2 scrappy goals v Everton does not a summer make.
looking like a lot of our loan signings, once made permanent. Johansen, similar.
