Everton had two attempts on goal and 38% possession in a home defeat today ... ... anyone think the Mags would actually have him back now. No, not a chance.
Haven't managed to read all the comments on here but the big lift and feel good factor the takeover gave the fans lasted all of 15 minutes then they reverted back to Steve's masterplan. Fighting for the manager and they're jobs what an absolute joke.
Well its been a great weekend of entertainment. We win and the scum serve up this as a dessert from the desert owners.
This match today had me wondering about the way Steve Bruce was treated by Newcastle, supposedly a proud club with a great history. (Or so the media keep telling us.) Yes I know we don't like him and the Mags want him to go, that's fair enough. But there's supposed to be dignity and decency in football as was shown by the way the players happily left the field for a medical problem. The fans applauded the players, the players applauded the fans and the fans applauded the fella, the medics and anyone else involved. All very nice and polite. And there was Bruce standing alone like a gatecrasher no one wanted to talk to, not even his own players who no longer want to be associated with him. Wouldn't it have been dignified and decent, on Bruce's 1000th game, to present him with a bottle of fizz. After all this is a local man who won endless trophies, more than most Geordies ever have, and has done his best for the club. Didn't the new owners think they could trust the supporters not to boo and shame the club. I expect the Saudis preferred image above reality ... ... typical of them and ironically the one and only reason they bought the club.
We sang "you fat geordie bastard get out of our club" football fans are football fans. We are famously fickle unless we are winning and then we are smugly magnanimous
Pinched from the comments on the BBC match thread: "Eric Dier has scored more goals this season for Newcastle than Joelinton." Reading through the comments on there it seems that virtually every neutral thinks the situation at Newcastle and their fans reaction to it is disgraceful.
Also noticed mandy nearly sat back down without putting her sear down, now that would have been the cherry on top of the cake
basically they're all on borrowed time, nobody's playing for their future, because they'll all be expecting to be replaced. morale must be @ zero, any prospective manager will not want to take on that squad with all the baggage this takeover brings with it. The Saudis won't want to spend fortunes paying up contracts, and what top class players will move into the relegation zone? I can't see january bringing any superstars, the best hope they have is survival until the summer, then a new manager with fortunes to spend.
