Thought Redmond was playing as a front line captain today. Ushering team mates around, making sure injured players were ok … all the dead ball kicks. I wonder if the extra responsibility, with JWP being out spurned him on? Capt Nathan?
Totally agree (except it's one game and he needs to do this for 10 straight games before I get too excited...)
Hey, very happy he had a good game & wasn’t really being serious. Just an observation & a feature I’ve never ever seen from him before.
Sidenote - Weren’t the big screens supposed to be replaced during the international window? Wonder what happened there.
Great counter attack goal but it got a bit embarrassing listening to the commentary team reeling off our goal stats**, such as Djenepo 0 goals in 48, Theo 1 in 18 then they started to talk about Shane Long without mentioning numbers. Sod’s law that we look as though we have solved many of our defensive woes, only to forget how to score. Still 1-0 is still worth the same number of points as 5-0, just more nervy. ** I think those were the figures mentioned.
This was the Leeds I hoped to see. Really pleased we got the win, if only to quiet the social media reactionaries for a week. for me this was still toothless versus awful though. We need to get our attackers on the same page because so often we get the ball into someone but there is no one in a dangerous position, nobody finding the pass into space, players trying to drive to the byline and cross past 2 men. the first 2 thirds of the pitch were fantastic as always and we are shaping up for a koeman-esque season with squeaky bum wins. Clean sheets win games and eat nerves. the changes rang really well and show that Ralph has got a squad of players playing well not just a first 11 and that is where Leeds will struggle. They will come right when their first choice 11 is available again.
yeah it’s Inescapeable. We sold our only reliable goal scorer but it was worth it when you look at the squad we now have.
Yes. Dunno who gets dropped though. For Burnley, possibly Romeu. Chelsea in the Cup, Romeu starts imo.
Yeah it’s a shame we couldn’t have both, we have sold our talisman but in turn we look far more fluent and composed across the rest of the pitch, our overall play has definitely improved - but we have very little edge. Today was a step in the right direction though as we did create.
Great result but Leeds were awful. Similar to Wolves game but with Leeds stripped of a number of first team players, Beilsa had nothing to change 2nd half. Lots of very positive performances but I question if that that was because Leeds were so ****e. Anyway, onwards & upwards.
We played better against Wolves and lost I reckon, so it’s all fine margins in the end. We just need Broja to mutate into a peak form Marion Pahars, and we’ll be flying.
Leeds were way way worst than Wolves, who definitely changed tactics & upped performance in 2nd half. Leeds were crap as reciprocated by there fans. Had very little interest in us & actually booed their players.
Yeah I wondered that. But then again, I wasn't surprised, given that there were turnstile problems yet again (despite what the club said previously). Nowhere near as bad as against Utd, but no way should queues be that long (for the Chapel). Took me four attempts for the reader to recognise my card, and it was a lot more than that for the guy in front of me.
Absolutely love that this is part of the pre-match ritual now in the final minutes before the teams walk out of the tunnel: Feels like the club have tried so many ideas but just turning the PA system off and letting the Saints brass band play OWTS is by far the best.
Just watched MOTD. Time to own up to who dropped some Speed into Redders pasta, # transformation ( if only for a day)
We’ll do very well to have Salisu at end of next season. My motm today. Yes, one slip but otherwise my only criticism was why the ffuck was he bombing up the left wing 2nd half interchanging on inside! Someone higher up the league will be definitely watching.
Only seen MOTD and read the bits on here, but sounded a great display. From the looks of it Salisu did what he always does, 1 stupid/big mistake along with 89 minutes of top quality defending. If he can work on that mistake he will become some player. Only young so hopefully it will come with time. 4 big opportunities to build some form now!
