Well if we pick a team to win based on what we’ve seen then the team is wrong or the players are not doing their jobs - which is it ? Answers on a roll if wallpaper please?
If you two don't stop arguing i'm gonna slap you both on the back of your legs and no bread and dripping for tea.
It's basic footballing nous Chazz. How many of us played football, even at the most basic level and wouldn't have attacked that shot...He telegraphed it. For what it's worth,I wouldn't have picked that team today and I'm puzzled why he did.His jacket hangs on the shakiest of nails because we are better than this but we don't get to make that decision.
i actually thought we showed a bit of fight there. We were the better team for 75 minutes. Just so frustrating we can't finish and then make mistakes at the back. Need a striker and an experienced centre back. Sure I've heard that before somewhere. It was so obvious though before we'd even kicked a ball this season. As for Wilks, I'd drop him and play him in U23's until he learns to put a shift in. Shocking individual performance. Coyle justified his inclusion.
GM always suggests he's clever enough to change the team to reflect the opposition. But except in the last game when i think he was forced into 3-5-2 by having both left backs injured, the reality is he really doesnt change the team radically at all.
Must say I find the allowances made for Wilks one of the most infuriating aspects of the season so far. I watched the subs warming up at half time in the Boro game. Wilks really was barely joining in while Docherty of course was at it. Of course, Wilks then scores a good goal after Docherty wins the ball (and Doc also set up the first goal), so Wilks starts today because in GM's words 'he's an important player for us' and Docherty doesn't. With the possible exception of Honeyman, I think Docherty is THE most important player in the team.
Forest are unbeaten with 3 wins and a draw since sacking Houghton and appointing Cooper. Just saying.
I find Grant's team selections infuriating in general. Doc got two assists against Boro (first was marked as an OG but he set up KLP) after coming on and is benched. Emmanuel had good game against Boro and is benched. He reverts back to type despite 3-5-2 giving us our second win of the season. I really don't understand his way of thinking and how he sets up for games at all.
