Match Day Thread Huddersfield v Hull City

Usual stuff from City. Can't defend set pieces, too slow getting the ball forward, everything peters out at the front. Hopeful crosses coming in from both wings but there's no-one in the middle to pick them up, KLP trying hard, Wilks ineffective, Smith fairly anonymous. Smallwood and Honeyman both on yellow cards, could be costly, they're both prone to diving in a bit.

 

Hudds pressed heavily first 15 mins and we couldn't live with them . No way they could have carried on like that, I thought it was fairly even after that. Wilks was ****ing awful. Good to see Honeyman back.
Next goal's the winner.

 

Docherty and Moncur on for me second half. We need more energy going forward and Honeyman's on a yellow. I like Cannon but not over Docherty.

 

Eaves comes on and saves a point v Blackpool and contributes to our 3rd win in about 30 games at this level last time out - so get left out. Emmanuel has played in our 2 wins so far this season - so gets left out.

 

Has Wilks looked as ineffectual as he has every other game this season bar 30 seconds at the end of the last one?

 

Unless one of our players mams calls them in for tea and the game gets called off??! hoping

Its a bit weird because he's not gone with his usual 433 either, it's some sort of weird 4222 with Coyle tucking in. There's Wilks and Smith up top but then splitting, KLP is playing more central than usual too. It's leaving holes for them and exposing Richie.

Poor defending has cost us again!! It's only half-time and we really haven't looked as bad as some would make out....We need to be aggressive for the next 45 and take this game by the scruff of the neck.
