Most people will have to change at Newark Northgate. I can supply with pub options for those interested.
Four four fooking two please Nige Mac g Barker Lavelle Famewo Souare Leko Arter Gilbey Kirk Lee Stockley
Might be worth seeing if Stockley and Davison can play together. If they could get a partnership going it could cause defences a few problems, with Lee in the hole.
In my team Lee drops back a little to help the midfield, while Stockley gobbles up all the crosses fired in by Kirk. Leko can do what he wants
Kirk doesn't get into my team yet. And not, I suspect, NA's. I expect he'll play Gunter at RB, Washington up front instead of Kirk but otherwise your team.
Back on track...... I'm expecting the Castle Barge to be busy around 18.15 the trains back are iffy. 1400 away is worrying as a BIG away turnout usually means a poor result. I'll be happy with a draw.
Please drink responsibly Elfs Have a great day everyone who is going - and everyone else to be honest. Will check back in later this afternoon UP THE ADDICKS!
Blimey, unchanged....what is going on ? TEAM NEWS | Addicks unchanged for Lincoln City clash 16th October 2021 14:00pm please log in to view this image Manager Nigel Adkins has named an unchanged starting XI from our last League One outing for this afternoon’s clash against Lincoln City at the LNER Stadium. Should the Addicks continue in the fluid 4-2-3-1 shape employed at Fleetwood Town before the international break then captain Chris Gunter, Sam Lavelle, Akin Famewo and Pape Souaré will form the defensive line ahead of Craig MacGillivray. Harry Arter and Alex Gilbey are likely to man the midfield with Elliot Lee roaming ahead of them, behind frontman Josh Davison, who will be supported by Jonathan Leko and Charlie Kirk on the flanks. Elsewhere, Adam Matthews and Ben Watson return to the matchday 18 and are joined on the bench by Stephen Henderson, Jason Pearce, Jayden Stockley, Conor Washington and Corey Blackett-Taylor. Charlton: MacGillivray; Gunter (c), Lavelle, Famewo, Souaré; Arter, Gilbey; Leko, Lee, Kirk; Davison Subs: Henderson, Matthews, Pearce, Watson, Stockley, Washington, Blackett-Taylor
Got what we deserved today. Lincoln were better organised and played better football. In my opinion, after Lee went off, we were overrun in midfield. Clare should have been there to come on so Gilbey could move forward.
In order just to keep our place in the 3rd tier, Charlton need 4 points from every 3 games for the rest of this season. So one way of looking at the rest of 2021-22 is to break it down into 3 game segments. This is the first game of a three game segment, and we have taken 0 points. In order simply to improve our current chances of avoiding relegation, the team must get a win and a draw from the next two games in the segment. And that's just to survive. Forget climbing into mid-table. Forget a challenge to the top third of the league.
