This kid is totally knackered. Too many games, too much pressure, he's just done. Ridiculous that Southgate didn't realise his physical and mental state, or that Chelsea didn't make him aware.
Looks like half the player he was, because expectations and fatigue are weighing him down.
Give him a proper rest Audi, you pushed him too hard for too many games.
    Don't kill the golden goose.

That said, the overriding impression I got from the game last night is that , not for the first time, England is overated. Foden is the only player even close to world standard, the rest are between average and just above average, with a couple below average. Sterling for one, Stones for another. Kane heading downwards like a falling stone. That said, the manager is the biggest problem I can see, useless tactician, unable to create the right atmosphere in the players. Heads need to be removed from arses and a proper review of the system started. Too many over inflated egos badly handled by a wimp of a Manager from my seat.

I completely agree and was about to say the same thing.
Mount looked bewildered and all over the place for England and he needs a rest.
I would leave him out at the weekend.
I dont want to be that guy who says "It's only Brentford" because we have seen that Brentford can get results at this level and they have done great so far.
But lets be honest, if we cant beat Brentford without a misfiring Mason Mount, then we have deeper problems that need addressing.

I would drop him for this weekend, and hopefully TT agrees.

Just want to add that although I am not an England fan, I will comment that Englands dire performances lately have been down to Southgate not rotating the team against lower opposition.
Kane is not performing, Mount is not performing, Foden has been meh, Sterling is up and down. At the moment everything is being rested on Jack Grealish's shoulders. He seems to be the only one putting in a shift in an england shirt at the moment.

If a nation like Switzerland or Czech Republic had England's path during the last Euros and 2018 WC they'd have fared the same. Southgate is a terrible coach and I've said as much since he got Boro relegated in 08/09 with what was a midtable squad.

Seems to me looking on from afar, that a succession of England managers don't seem to get the team playing the English way, which I see as pacey , gutsy and never stop running, just like the PL. Every foreign player who comes to English football comments on the pace and intensity, but in an England shirt ,the Manager seems always trying to play a more creative style.

Have you seen a PL game lately CP. The only pacey gutsy team I have seen is Brentford next up for us.

And boom just like that Brentford play "all gutsy and never stop running", gave us a hell of a time in the 2nd half, as soon as Kovacic went off we lost the plot.

To be fair Brentford have played like that all season, they were actually a lot better against Liverpool from what I saw. We got lucky today, Mendy really put in a 12/10 performance to get us the 3 points, Tuchel got the team and subs wrong IMO but we got away with it.

Three points earned the hard way, and a baptism of fire for a couple of the youngsters.
Defence did really well under great pressure, but we are still not firing properly.
    More questions posed than answered.
Hats off to Brentford, they'll rattle plenty of teams with that form and attitude.
