You can't compare the two countries and, since Man City, we've had BLM, etc

Could Rashford go to Newcastle without entering the Guinness Book of Records as the world's biggest hypocrite?

Could Klopp go there after his serial pontificating and ribbon wearing?

There are plenty of other choices, of clubs, and I'd bet Sterling would rather go abroad than sign for Newcastle.

I could never for the life of me support anyone other than Sunderland, I'm from here, I was brought up here and still live here. It just is what it is. And I certainly could never just "start supporting..... ". Yes you can keep an eye on one or two teams because of some other reason , ie a friend supported them when yous were kids, or you watched a cup final while you had the best time of your life on holiday at 18 year old and that winning team gives you a sense of nostalgia. But to just switch teams, nair. It's who you support.

Which is why I've always wondered why the Saudis wanted to invest in Newcastle? Surely the Ruebens could have done it themselves.

Looks to me that Amanda and her husband have been told to complete the takeover, then look after the shop until the proper team come over from Saudi to take over. I'm sure that Al Rumayann or whatever he's called is the new chairman, but he's nowhere to be seen yet, so it's been up to Amanda to hold the fort, that's why she's floundering around making them look stupid. I've no doubt the proper board will be talking to managers , and will wait until they're here to announce the new man, no way will she be given that to do, she's nothing but a housekeeper, and the minute the new team are in place, she'll be pushed out of the front line.

Nowt wrong with that, relatively short career, 10-15 years to fund a pension pot unless you can become a pundit/presenter on TV?

I'd say there's a lot wrong with it.

"The Manchester City forward was made an MBE after fronting anti-racism and discrimination campaigns and speaking out strongly against racism on and off the pitch for several years."

"Racism in Saudi Arabia extends to allegations of imprisonment, physical abuse, rape, murder, overwork, and wage theft, especially of foreign workers who are given little protections under the law."

If not Newcastle perhaps he'd go to Chelsea ....

Sterling reacts as a Chelsea fan appears to shout a racist insult during City’s defeat at Stamford Bridge in December. It was one of the incidents that prompted him to speak out about racism in football: ‘It was kind of — I’ve had enough of this,’ he says.

soooo... we have players the world over, if not taking the knee, pointing to the 'respect' on their shirts and we are told it is a stance against 'all forms of discrimination', that the players and pundits etc are 'all in it together', that a lot more needs doing to eradicate this discrimination.

once any single one of these players signs for a club owned by the saudis then that almost makes a complete mockery of the whole thing, will they all now stop taking the knee and 'fighting' for total equality?

or will we see the exact problem that we see everywhere in the world, that greed is the only thing they all follow and worship with no thought or concerns of where that money comes from...i think we all know the answer, sadly.

Yes we'll see if 'fighting discrimination' amounts to more than kneeling down for a few seconds and having your agent give a newspaper a few quotes.

imagine churchill saying 'we will fight them on the beaches...' then stopping because germany paid him a lot of money to be PM for them.

nowt will change until people stop worshipping money my friend, as long as those that cause pain and suffering can just buy whatever they want off those who desire that cash, blind eyes shall be turned everywhere.
